Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Walt Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Badam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Potter comes to the cage accompanied by Emalkay - When I Look At You. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Walt Potter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Badam! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Potter tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Badam was well out of range. Poor timing from Potter. A good leg kick by Badam. Potter tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Badam swivels and escapes. Badam throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Potter. Badam avoids the body shot from Potter.
Badam doesn't succeed with the takedown and Potter counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Potter throws a nice looking combination but Badam bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Potter looks to land a combination but Badam avoids it well. A punch combination from Potter misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Potter misses with a series of wild punches.
Potter throws a nice outside leg kick. No joy there for Potter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Potter lands a nice looking body shot.
Badam looks to clinch and Potter counters with a lovely straight right hand! Potter scores with a sloppy right hand. Badam should have avoided that one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Potter swinging wildly here.
Potter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Badam circles away quickly and effectively. Badam thumps Potter with a low kick. Potter takes a swing at Badam's ribcage but misses. Badam has his takedown stuffed and Potter counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Potter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Potter wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Potter swinging wildly here.
Badam tries for a takedown but Potter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Walt Potter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Badam. Potter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Potter throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Badam stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Potter scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Potter throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Badam sees it coming and avoids it easily. Potter is looking to wear down Badam with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Potter looks to land a right hand but Badam moved out of range. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Potter throws a right hand that Badam ducks under and follows up with a left that Badam also avoids with ease. Left hook, right uppercut from Potter. Potter throws a right hand that Badam ducks under and follows up with a left that Badam also avoids with ease. Badam shoots in and bounces Potter off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Badam is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Potter is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Potter has escaped and now he's on top! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Walt Potter dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Badam attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. A punch combination from Potter misses. Badam uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Potter. Walt Potter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Badam is looking to slow Potter down with leg kicks. Badam shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Potter as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Badam shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. A head kick misses from Badam. Potter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Badam moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Potter fails to land with a series of punches.

Badam takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Badam has his takedown stuffed and Potter counters with a three punch combo that has Badam backing up. Badam nods at Potter to acknowledge the strikes. Walt Potter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Badam. Badam shoots and misses and Potter counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Potter lands a two punch combo.
This has been an exciting period of action! Badam moves in looking to clinch but Potter pushes him off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Badam moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Badam throws a nice inside leg kick. Badam tries to work over Potter's front leg with a kick but Potter checks it. Potter throws out a leg kick but Badam moves out of range and Potter only half commits. Badam showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Potter.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Potter throws a series of punches but Badam moves out of range. Badam is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Potter. Badam fails with the takedown and Potter counters with a lovely shot to the body. Potter throws a right hand that Badam ducks under and follows up with a left that Badam also avoids with ease. Badam takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Badam throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Badam tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Walt Potter dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Potter scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Potter scores with a body shot.
Potter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Badam. Badam steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Potter. Badam has his takedown stuffed and Potter counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Walt Potter is winning the standup battle so far. Badam takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Potter lands with an uppercut that bounces Badam off the cage and back into rage. Badam shoots and misses and Potter counters with a three punch combo that has Badam backing up. Badam nods at Potter to acknowledge the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Badam gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Potter looking to pass the guard. Badam working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Potter. Badam looking for a sweep. Not yet Badam, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Badam throws his legs up looking for a submission but Potter uses it to pass to side control.
Potter content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Potter working the body and head with strikes. Badam tries to bench press Potter off him but Potter keeps the position. Potter lands some shots froms side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Badam takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Potter trying to control the position but Badam is working away. Badam takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Potter tries to move to mount but Badam blocks the move with his legs. Badam takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Badam taking a bit of punishment here - Potter scoring with strikes. Potter lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Badam down.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Badam is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Potter landing strikes. Potter advances to mount. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Badam is in all sorts of trouble here.
Potter trying to control but he's not successful this time. Potter lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Badam working to try and regain half guard.
Badam is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Badam somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet! Potter checks the leg kick. Badam throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Badam misses with a takedown and Potter decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Badam's guard. Walt Potter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Badam.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Badam wants to sweep but no luck. Badam isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Potter stacks Badam on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Potter! Potter is staying tight to Badam's torso, preventing him from escaping. Badam is trying to improve his position. Walt Potter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Potter trying to control the action but Badam is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Badam tries to bench press Potter off him but Potter keeps the position. Sam Badam has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Potter working the head with strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! Walt Potter showed his dominance in that final round. Well Potter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
