The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Minotas looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Diego Paixao!
Diego Paixao controls the position.
Minotas thowing shots but they're missing.
Diego Paixao tries to reverse the position but Minotas maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Minotas swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Diego Paixao is now in Minotas's guard. A big mistake from Minotas there, giving up the dominant position!

Diego Paixao wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Minotas, who protects the arm well.

Diego Paixao cracks Minotas with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Minotas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Minotas tries to lock up and control but Diego Paixao gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Diego Paixao stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Minotas lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Minotas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Diego Paixao looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Minotas tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Minotas swings around for an armbar but Diego Paixao sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Minotas's guard.

Diego Paixao seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Minotas flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
