PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Muhammad Kango (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kango's choice of entrance music: Everyone Nose. On his way into the cage it seems that Anthony Head has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Anthony Head seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthony Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Muhammad Kango!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kango looks for a takedown but Head sprawls well.
Head misses with a series of wild punches.
Kango tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Head swivels and escapes.
Kango fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Anthony Head has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Muhammad Kango.
Head tries for a takedown but Kango circles away easily

and Kango counters with a nice double leg into side control. Head won't be happy with that.
Head on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Head manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Kango wants to work for an arm triangle but Head is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kango looks gassed!
Head is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Head is pressing down on Kango's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Kango stays in close to Head's body and controls the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Head looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kango trying to control the position from guard on top but Head is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Head keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom.
Kango won't allow Head to sweep him here.
Kango pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Head is keeping the position for now.

Kango avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Head shoots in and bounces Kango off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Head stays in close to Kango's body and controls the position.
Head wants to stand but Kango has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Head trying to control the position from guard on top but Kango is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Head tries to free his leg and advance position but Kango is retaining full guard.

Kango is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Kango jumps guard but Head stands there with Kango around his waist. Kango gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kango pulls guard successfully.
Head wants to stand but Kango has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Head trying to control but Kango is working from the bottom.

Kango is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Head controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kango controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kango is trying to keep Head in close.
Kango controlling Head's posture.

Head is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kango has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Head is looking to defend but Kango has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Head! Kango pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Head taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Muhammad Kango!
