Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kelly Mcfillin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gold Member! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Mcfillin. Member throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Member throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Mcfillin wants to clinch. Member tests Mcfillin's chin there with a solid looking shot. Mcfillin checks the leg kick. Nice shot by Member. A punch combination from Member misses. Member ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mcfillin moves away. Member misses with a head kick.
Mcfillin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Member circles away. Mcfillin tries to land a front kick but Member steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Member misses with a looping left. Member throws a low kick but it's checked well by Mcfillin. Mcfillin takes a swing at Member's ribcage but misses. Mcfillin moves away from the strike by Member. Mcfillin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Member is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Mcfillin missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Member avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mcfillin. Member is looking for a sweep. Mcfillin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Mcfillin works his way into full mount! Mcfillin looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Member can do anything to dispel that myth. Member's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Member looks gassed! Mcfillin lands a big elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcfillin fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mcfillin scoring with strikes but Member is staying in there. Member can't escape the position.
Mcfillin goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Member turns into him and now he's in Mcfillin's guard.
Member wants to control from the top but Mcfillin keeps moving. Mcfillin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mcfillin pulls Member in close to his closed guard and prevents Member from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Member trying to control but Mcfillin is working from the bottom. Mcfillin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mcfillin pulls Member in close to prevent any damage. Mcfillin trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Mcfillin trying to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mcfillin throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Mcfillin is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Member is looking to advance position but Mcfillin has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kelly Mcfillin dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Donk. Mcfillin catches Member right on the button with a cross. A jab from Member finds it's way through Mcfillin's defenses. Member swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mcfillin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mcfillin tests Member's chin there with a solid looking shot. Mcfillin moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Member goes down! Can Mcfillin finish him!?
Member is rocked! Member can't keep his opponent in guard - Mcfillin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Member is still in real trouble! Can Mcfillin finish him? Member really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mcfillin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mcfillin winds up and cracks Member with a swinging punch to the side of the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Mcfillin looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Member taking some punishment here, with Mcfillin in his half guard. Member is breathing heavily. Mcfillin moves into full mount! Member won't be happy about that!
That's one minute gone in the round. Member takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Mcfillin's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kelly Mcfillin!
