Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Caden Akergaard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cane Velkost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Cane Velkost enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Caden Akergaard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cane Velkost! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Velkost does no damage. Akergaard gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Velkost jumps guard but Akergaard stands there with Velkost around his waist. Velkost gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Akergaard lands a good knee to the midsection. Velkost won't want to take too many of those. Velkost jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Akergaard walks away with a smile on his face. Velkost gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Akergaard has Velkost up against the cage in a clinch.
Akergaard jumps guard and drags Velkost to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Akergaard holds on and takes a little breather. Velkost stopping the sweep attempt from Akergaard. Akergaard trying to control the position.
Akergaard is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akergaard is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Akergaard seems keen to control Velkost's posture. Akergaard working a defensive guard but Velkost passes into half guard.
Akergaard wants to improve his position but Velkost is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Velkost wants to stand up but Akergaard has a hold of him and won't allow it. Akergaard wants to improve his position but Velkost is controlling well.
Velkost is keen to just control but Akergaard is a slippery customer. Akergaard keeps control of the position for the meantime. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Velkost tries to stand and escape but Akergaard is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akergaard is trying is best to control the position here. Akergaard regains full guard. Nicely done. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Akergaard is on top in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Akergaard accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Akergaard throwing strikes but missing. Velkost keeping moving, preventing Akergaard from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Akergaard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Velkost swivels though and keeps the full guard. Akergaard passes easily into side control. Nice work. Velkost really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Akergaard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Akergaard wants to control but Velkost is keeping him busy. Akergaard is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Velkost is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Akergaard remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Akergaard trying to control the action but Velkost is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Akergaard fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Velkost, pushing him back against the cage. Velkost on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Velkost manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Akergaard trying to control but Velkost is working from the bottom.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Caden Akergaard just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Akergaard uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Velkost. Velkost wants to slow Akergaard down by chopping away at his legs. Velkost avoids a kick to the body.
Akergaard takes a jab right on the kisser.

Akergaard seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Akergaard not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Akergaard has control of Velkost's left arm, preventing Velkost from doing any damage.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Caden Akergaard just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Akergaard tries a head kick but it misses.
Velkost tries to bum rush Akergaard with a series of wild strikes but Akergaard uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akergaard fails in his attempt to clinch. Akergaard takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Akergaard. Velkost is breathing heavily. Akergaard drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Akergaard in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Akergaard is looking to take a break and control but Velkost is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Akergaard is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Velkost is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Akergaard lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Velkost down.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Akergaard tries to move to mount but Velkost blocks the move with his legs. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Velkost can do anything to dispel that myth. Akergaard throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Akergaard is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Velkost knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Akergaard looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Velkost defending against the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Caden Akergaard dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Velkost dips to his left and cracks Akergaard with an uppercut! Akergaard lands a nice looking kick to the body. Velkost takes a step back to recover. A nice inside leg kick there by Velkost. That's going to slow Akergaard down. Velkost is looking to land body kicks. Cane Velkost is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Velkost throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Velkost throws a jab but it's blocked by Akergaard. Akergaard is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Velkost's half guard. Velkost is defending against the submission attempts here by Akergaard.
Akergaard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Velkost keeps working. Velkost takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Akergaard moves nicely into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velkost is not content to let Akergaard control the position. Akergaard is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Velkost has escaped the position, nice work there. Velkost struggling a bit here. Akergaard is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Velkost knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The ground and pound from Akergaard seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Velkost is not content to let Akergaard control the position. Akergaard sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Velkost is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Caden Akergaard is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akergaard moves into full mount! Velkost is squirming around, avoiding Akergaard's attempts to control the action. Akergaard looking to ground and pound but Velkost is blocking nicely. Akergaard looking to control but Velkost is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Velkost defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Akergaard. Akergaard can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Velkost is looking to escape. Akergaard lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Akergaard sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Akergaard cracks Velkost with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Akergaard takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Akergaard looking to control but Velkost is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Caden Akergaard just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Velkost punishes Akergaard's body with a nice straight punch. Cane Velkost has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Akergaard fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Velkost avoids it really well and circles away. Velkost tries to work over Akergaard's front leg with a kick but Akergaard checks it.
And that's the end of the fight! Caden Akergaard showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Akergaard, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
