Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Thunder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edmond Dantes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ken Thunder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Edmond Dantes! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dantes misses with a looping left. Dantes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Thunder.
A punch combination from Thunder misses. Thunder will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dantes dodges the punch combination from Thunder.

A decent looking cross lands there for Dantes. Thunder swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Dantes counters with a shoot takedown. Thunder fights it but they end up in guard. Dantes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Dantes trying to control but Thunder is working from the bottom. Dantes is working Thunder over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Dantes distracts Thunder with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dantes postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Thunder wants to stand up but Dantes is controlling him. Dantes chips away with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dantes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Dantes has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dantes slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Dantes won't allow Thunder to get back to his feet. Thunder is breathing heavily. Dantes lands a couple of digs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dantes makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Thunder working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dantes. Dantes trying to control but Thunder is working from the bottom. Dantes is working Thunder over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Dantes with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dantes's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dantes scoring with punches to the head and body. Dantes forces his way into half guard. Thunder on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Dantes looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dantes is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Still in half guard, Dantes seems content to control. Dantes lands strikes from half guard. Dantes is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thunder sees it coming and defends easily. Thunder is looking to escape. Dantes slips a nice elbow through Thunder's hands, connecting with Thunder's forehead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dantes lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Dantes working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Dantes working the head and body with strikes. Dantes seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dantes connects with a nice short shot to Thunder's temple. Thunder is in trouble now - Dantes has advanced to mount! Dantes with shots to the head and body - Thunder looks very uncomfortable down there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dantes content just to control the position here. BOOM! Dantes connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Thunder takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Thunder in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dantes working the ground and pound effectively.
Dantes looking to secure an arm triangle but Thunder defends it well. Dantes punishing his opponent with strikes. Dantes landing strikes, looking to finish! Dantes cracks Thunder with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Dantes lands a big elbow. Dantes working Thunder over with strikes here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Dantes with the ground and pound from mount. Dantes working for a submission but Thunder is keeping him at bay. Dantes lands a big shot there that rocks Thunder but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Edmond Dantes dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

It looks like Ken Thunder has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Dantes shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Thunder manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Dantes lands a couple of elbows. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dantes's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Dantes is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Dantes keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Thunder's head. Dantes lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Dantes wants to control from the top but Thunder keeps moving. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Dantes scoring with punches to the head and body. Edmond Dantes has got the better of the ground game so far. Dantes distracts Thunder with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Dantes with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Dantes trying to control the position from guard on top but Thunder is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Thunder wants to stand but Dantes is controlling the position. Dantes is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Dantes controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Thunder wants to stand but Dantes is controlling the position. Dantes trying to control but Thunder is working from the bottom. Dantes passes Thunder's left leg - he's now in half guard. Dantes takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dantes working the head and body with strikes. Dantes is trying to control. Thunder wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Dantes looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dantes seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Thunder is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
