PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between koln poir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joosh Broown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, koln poir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joosh Broown!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Fedor Mirinova and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
poir moves in looking to clinch but Broown pushes him off.
poir avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
poir could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A solid leg kick lands there for poir.
Broown throws a sloppy head kick and poir moves out of range easily.
poir fails with a takedown attempt.

Broown gets the takedown into side control.
poir manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
poir has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Broown is working away from the top position though.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Broown lands a nice short elbow.

poir is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Broown is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Broown takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Broown fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. poir sprawls well initially but Broown persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Broown looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks poir with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Broown feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
