Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Rocher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rocher has chosen We Will Rock You as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marcus Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Rocher circles away.
Rocher shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Rocher controlling his opponent. Rocher trying to control but Jones is having none of it. Jones regains half guard. Rocher is looking to advance position but Jones won't allow it. Rocher is tying to control. Jones wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Rocher moves into full mount! Jones won't be happy about that! Rocher looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is trying to reverse the position but instead Rocher has taken his back - oops! Jones looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Rocher controlling from the back. Rocher tries to get the hooks in deep but Jones pushed the leg off. Rocher gets his hands free as Jones looks to control. Rocher doesn't have the hooks in and Jones manages to turn into his guard.
Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jones gets to his feet - Rocher follows without any prompting. Rocher fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rocher tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rocher working some nice short punches in the clinch. Jones tightens his grip and picks Rocher up, before dumping him to the ground. Rocher manages to land in guard. Jones stands up and waves to Rocher to follow him. Rocher looks gassed! Rocher darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Jones is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Rocher tries to control but Jones wriggling away. Rocher is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Jones really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones prevents any damage by holding on tight. Jones manages to regain half guard. Good work. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jones tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Rocher has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Rocher lands a big elbow. Jones prevents Rocher from taking his back. Jones tries to hold on but Rocher pushes him away. Rocher tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to hold on but Rocher postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rocher is trying to control here but Jones has managed to regain half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jones tries to get to full guard but Rocher has control of the leg. Rocher lands strikes from half guard. Rocher wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jones gets full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Marcus Jones will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jones shoots and misses and Rocher counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rocher. Jones thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Rocher trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rocher seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Jones looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jones pushes Rocher off and gets back to his feet.
Jones misses with a takedown and Rocher counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jones is trying to keep Rocher in close.
Rocher prevents Jones from getting back to his feet. Rocher is breathing heavily. Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jones holds on and takes a little breather. Jones is trying to control the position but Rocher postures up. Jones thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Jones is trying to keep Rocher in close.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Rocher tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch. Jones goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rocher prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rocher leaning his opponent against the cage. Jones wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Rocher breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A head kick by Jones misses and Rocher counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. David Rocher has got the better of the ground game so far. Jones moves into full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones kicks Rocher off and gets to his feet. Jones throws a nice looking combination but Rocher bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Rocher pushes Jones away with a front kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rocher drives through with a takedown into guard. Rocher trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones trying to strike off his back.
Rocher wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jones seems keen to control Rocher's posture. Rocher pushing down on Jones's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rocher sitting and controlling from the half guard. Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jones wants to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Rocher passes to full mount! Rocher lands a nice shot to the head. Jones is wriggling around trying to escape.
Rocher tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rocher lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jones tries to hold on but Rocher postures up. Rocher prevents Jones from getting the reversal. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rocher takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Rocher prevents Jones from getting the reversal. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Rocher showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Jones fails with the takedown and Rocher decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard. Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Rocher has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though. Rocher keeping hold of Jones's head, controlling as best he can. Jones is pressing down on Rocher's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rocher is holding on for now. Rocher kicks Jones off and gets back to his feet. Rocher closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Rocher is looking to advance position but Jones won't allow it. Rocher is taking a breather. Jones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is trying to get back to full guard. Jones trying to control but Rocher postures up.
Rocher is looking to advance position but Jones won't allow it. Rocher looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Jones is not content to let Rocher control the position. Jones manages to get to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jones is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Rocher dives into side control.
Rocher wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working. Jones prevents Rocher from moving into mount. Rocher working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Rocher in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Rocher stands up and beckons Jones to his feet. Rocher tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to clinch there but Rocher circles away.
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown so Rocher counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Jones lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Jones is trying to control the position but Rocher postures up. Rocher stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. Jones is looking to stand back up but Rocher counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Jones. Jones is looking for a sweep. Rocher working away. Jones is trying to buck Rocher off.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Jones tries to clinch but Rocher moves out of range. Jones keeps the fight on the outside. Jones rushes Rocher and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Jones breaks the clinch.
Rocher fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jones gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Rocher counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rocher. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rocher tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard. Rocher passes into half guard. Rocher wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it. Rocher controlling the action here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rocher wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy. Jones wants to control but Rocher passes into side.
And that's the end of the fight! David Rocher comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Rocher has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
