Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Harville (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Alekseyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alekseyev has chosen potemkin theme-megatona furioso as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. James Harville has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Harville!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roman Alekseyev!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Vladimir Khabensky and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alekseyev fails in his attempt to clinch.
Alekseyev tries to clinch up but Harville circles away and keeps his distance.
Alekseyev looks for a takedown but Harville sprawls well.
A combination from Harville does no damage.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alekseyev feints and as Harville raises his hands in defense, Alekseyev changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Alekseyev controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
I looks like Alekseyev might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Harville really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Alekseyev thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Roman Alekseyev just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Alekseyev feints and as Harville raises his hands in defense, Alekseyev changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Harville fails with an attempt to clinch.
Harville lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Alekseyev circles away quickly and effectively.

Alekseyev shoots in and bounces Harville off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Alekseyev is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Harville is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Alekseyev wants to control but Harville is keeping him busy.
A lull in the action here as Alekseyev stalls from top position.

Harville throws a right hand that Alekseyev ducks under and follows up with a left that Alekseyev also avoids with ease.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Alekseyev closes the distance and clinches up with Harville, looking for a takedown. Alekseyev pushes Harville against the cage but Harville circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roman Alekseyev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Alekseyev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Harville pinned against the cage. Harville gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Alekseyev slips a jab and a cross from Harville.

Alekseyev tries for a takedown but Harville sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Alekseyev takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Alekseyev closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alekseyev is controlling the pace.
Harville moves into full guard.
Alekseyev stays in close to Harville's body and controls the position.

Harville wants to stand and escape but Alekseyev is having none of it.
James Harville has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
