Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Pietersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Cobsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cobsen comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Christafari - Valley Of Decisions kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Joe Cobsen is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Pietersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Joe Cobsen!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pietersen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cobsen's guard.
Pietersen is looking to stand up but Cobsen won't let him.
Pietersen wants to control from the top but Cobsen keeps moving.

Pietersen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pietersen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Cobsen wants to stand and escape but Pietersen is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No luck for Pietersen with that takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pietersen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cobsen tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Pietersen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Cobsen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pietersen manages to get himself to full guard.
Cobsen is looking to stand up but Pietersen won't let him.

Cobsen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Cobsen avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Pietersen.

and Pietersen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cobsen!
Pietersen lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Pietersen jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Cobsen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Cobsen and Pietersen has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

and Pietersen counters with a shoot takedown. Cobsen fights it but they end up in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cobsen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pietersen is one step ahead there.
Cobsen wants to stand and escape but Pietersen is having none of it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pietersen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Pietersen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cobsen is proving hard to escape from.
Cobsen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pietersen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Joe Cobsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pietersen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cobsen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kevin Pietersen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pietersen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cobsen avoids it really well and circles away.

and Pietersen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Pietersen is taking a breather. Cobsen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Cobsen looks like he's trying to stand up.
Pietersen drops an elbow to the side of Cobsen's head.

Pietersen is looking for submissions but instead, Cobsen has regained full guard.
Pietersen wants to stand but Cobsen has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Cobsen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pietersen's guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cobsen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pietersen, up you get!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pietersen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
