Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maurisio Rua!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Russell Pearce and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Richards Jr shoots in but no luck this time.
Rua misses with a two punch combination.
Richards Jr misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rua gets a clinch.
Rua gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Rua manages to pull guard.
Rua wants to stand and escape but Richards Jr is having none of it.
Richards Jr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rua works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rua really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Richards Jr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Richards Jr wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving.
Richards Jr stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Richards Jr misses with a double jab
and Rua counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Rua breaks from the clinch.
Richards Jr tries to clinch
and Rua counters with a one-two to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Richards Jr looks to land a right hand but Rua moved out of range.
Richards Jr throws and low kick but Rua moves out of range easily.
Rua lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Richards Jr tries to clinch up
and Rua holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Rua.
Richards Jr tries to pull guard but Rua won't allow it.
Rua gets underhooks to prevent Richards Jr's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donnie Richards Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rua's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Richards Jr doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rua holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Richards Jr is breathing heavily.
Richards Jr is trying to break the clinch but Rua is controlling him.
Rua pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Richards Jr throws a head kick that misses
letting Rua counter with a right hand.
Rua clinches up with Richards Jr and pushes him back against the cage.
Rua escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rua scores with a jab. Richards Jr acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Rua throws a right hand that Richards Jr ducks under and follows up with a left that Richards Jr also avoids with ease.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Richards Jr falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rua counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Richards Jr clinches but Rua breaks the clinch
and Rua counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Rua breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Richards Jr throws a combination that misses
and Rua counters with an inside leg kick.
Rua works over Richards Jr's head and body with a nice combination.
Richards Jr is rocked!
Rua throws an overhand right that drops Richards Jr like a sack of potatoes! Rua dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
