1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rashad Evans! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Evans gets a takedown into half guard. Walford looking for submissions off his back. Walford actively working from the bottom here. Walford is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Walford is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Evans pulls his head out easily. Walford tries to get to full guard but Evans has control of the leg. Walford is working hard here to advance position. Evans scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walford works his way to full guard. Good work. Walford is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Evans defends well. Evans got a little sloppy there for a moment and Walford has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Evans has managed to get both his arms back between Walford's legs - danger averted. Evans is working Walford over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Evans landing with the ground and pound. Walford working for a triangle but Evans defends it easily.
Walford is breathing heavily. Evans is in close to Walford's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walford is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Evans defends well. Evans pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Walford is keeping the position for now. Walford is looking to sinch up a triangle. Evans throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Walford's body to avoid the submission. Walford has instead reached around Evans's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Walford arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
