Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Roberson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roberson comes to the cage accompanied by All the Above-Maino. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Marcus Karlsson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Roberson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Karlsson! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karlsson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Roberson managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Karlsson.
Karlsson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Karlsson throws an elbow but Roberson slips to the side and avoids it well. Karlsson decides to take the fight back to the feet. Karlsson lands a head shot. Roberson gets caught flat footed, as Karlsson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Karlsson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Roberson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Karlsson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Karlsson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Karlsson wants to control from the top but Roberson keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karlsson tries to free his leg and advance position but Roberson is retaining full guard. Karlsson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Karlsson gets to his feet. Roberson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Roberson lands with a nice combination. Karlsson backs away looking to recover. Roberson misses with a two punch combination.

Roberson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Karlsson on the side of the head. Roberson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Karlsson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Karlsson looks gassed! Karlsson tries to stand but can't do so whilst Roberson controls his leg. Karlsson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roberson wants to improve his position but Karlsson is controlling well.
Karlsson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roberson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Roberson trying to control from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Roberson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Roberson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Roberson works over Karlsson's head and body with a nice combination. Roberson lands a jab-cross combination. Roberson connects with a jab. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Roberson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Danga de danga de dang - Roberson scores with a four punch combination! Anthony Roberson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roberson scores with a one two! Karlsson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Roberson tries for a takedown but Karlsson circles away easily and Karlsson counters with a single leg into guard. Roberson didn't expect that. Karlsson is looking to stand up but Roberson won't let him. Karlsson cracks Roberson with a solid left hand. Karlsson working some strikes from top position. Karlsson stands up from guard. Let's bang! Karlsson gets the takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Karlsson lands a few punches from side control.
Roberson is rocked! Karlsson has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Roberson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Karlsson yanks on the arm and Roberson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Karlsson.
