Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Sullyvan!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sullyvan throws a nice looking combination but Mir bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sullyvan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sullyvan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sullyvan attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Sullyvan lands a left and a right that sends Mir crashing to the canvas! Sullyvan dives into mount looking to finish!
It looks like Sam Mir has been cut.
Mir looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
You can see the frustration on Mir's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
I would not like to be Mir right now.
Sullyvan doesn't have the hooks in and Mir manages to turn into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mir throws a big right hand that misses.
Sullyvan wants to stand but Mir is controlling the position.
Mir pushes down on Sullyvan's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Mir is trying to control. Sullyvan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Sullyvan is looking to control Mir's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sullyvan avoid being mounted?
Mir throwing shots but Sullyvan is blocking nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mir trying to mount his opponent but Sullyvan defends it.
Mir throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mir fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sullyvan fails to land with a series of punches.
Sullyvan lands with a right that hurts Mir. Mir looks to clinch but Sullyvan throws a short knee that drops Mir. This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Johnny Sullyvan!
