PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stevenson comes to the cage accompanied by This Love, This Hate by Hollywood Undead. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Tyler!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyler shoots in but Stevenson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tyler shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stevenson defends it nicely.
Tyler misses with a takedown attempt - Stevenson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jeff Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Tyler.

Stevenson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tyler sprawls well initially but Stevenson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Tyler shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Stevenson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Stevenson wants to get back to his feet but Tyler is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Tyler is looking to work some ground and pound but Stevenson has wrist control.

Tyler shoots in but no luck this time.
Tyler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stevenson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

No joy there for Tyler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Stevenson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Jake Tyler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tyler throws a right hand that Stevenson ducks under and follows up with a left that Stevenson also avoids with ease.

Tyler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stevenson tries to avoid it but Tyler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stevenson to the ground. Stevenson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Tyler seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tyler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stevenson as he avoids it easily.

Jake Tyler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Tyler winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
