Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenny Wisdom!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wisdom is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Wisdom tries to clinch up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Malaka looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kenny Wisdom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Malaka shoots in for a takedown but Wisdom shows good takedown defense.

Wisdom should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

and Wisdom counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Malaka!

Malaka tries to reverse the position but Wisdom maintains control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

BOOM! Wisdom connects with a massive shot to the dome!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Malaka can't escape the position.
Malaka knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wisdom on the ground.

Wisdom has hold of Malaka's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Malaka manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Wisdom misses with a head shot.
Wisdom wants to control the pace but Malaka is squirming around nicely.
Malaka wants to hold on but Wisdom pushes him away.
Wisdom looking to control but Malaka is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Wisdom manages to capitalize on a mistake by Malaka to take his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Malaka is looking to clinch but Wisdom is avoiding it.

and Malaka counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Malaka.
Malaka jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wisdom walks away with a smile on his face. Malaka gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Wisdom drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Wisdom stands up and waves to Malaka to follow him.
Malaka chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Wisdom can pounce on him.
Malaka is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wisdom sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Wisdom counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Malaka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wisdom tries to stand but Malaka is controlling from the bottom.
Malaka wants to sweep here but Wisdom controlling him for the moment.

Wisdom stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Malaka swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Wisdom counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Wisdom wants to control from the top but Malaka keeps moving.
Malaka controls Wisdom momentarily but Wisdom frees himself.
Malaka is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Malaka seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Malaka tries to clinch there but Wisdom circles away.

Kenny Wisdom showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Malaka shoots for a takedown but Wisdom saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Wisdom closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wisdom lands in his opponent's guard.

Malaka is looking to control Wisdom's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Malaka avoid being mounted?
Wisdom takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Malaka wants to get back to his feet.

Wisdom thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Malaka's head.

Malaka looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Malaka is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wisdom pulls his head out easily.
Kenny Wisdom has got the better of the ground game so far.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Malaka pushes Wisdom up against the cage in a clinch.
Wisdom works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Wisdom is looking to control Malaka's arms but Malaka gets an underhook and turns him. Now Wisdom has his back to the cage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Wisdom obliges.

Malaka has picked Wisdom up - he's going for a ride! Malaka dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Malaka trying to advance position but Wisdom counters by regaining guard.
Malaka tries to free his leg and advance position but Wisdom is retaining full guard.
Malaka trying to control the position from guard on top but Wisdom is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Malaka drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wisdom dives on top into guard.

Wisdom stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Wisdom gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Malaka's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

I would just about give that final round to Kenny Wisdom.
I've got Wisdom winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
