Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Josh Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuji Hioki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Josh Sousa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yuji Hioki! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sousa doesn't manage to clinch there - Hioki circles away.
Sousa misses with a body kick. Sousa throws a head kick that Hioki semi-blocks.
Sousa clinches. Sousa stops a takedown attempt from Hioki.
Sousa tightens his grip and picks Hioki up, before dumping him to the ground. Hioki manages to land in guard. Sousa working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Sousa trying to control the position from guard on top but Hioki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sousa is looking to work some ground and pound but Hioki has wrist control. Hioki wants to stand up but Sousa is controlling him. Hioki seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hioki is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hioki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sousa tries to avoid it but Hioki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sousa to the ground. Sousa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Sousa darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Sousa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hioki does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hioki is trying to control but can't.
Hioki is staying active underneath Sousa, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hioki looks gassed! Sousa is just content to waste time from the top position. Hioki takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hioki not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hioki managing to control the position. Sousa could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sousa misses with a series of wild punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sousa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Hioki tries to reverse the position but Sousa maintains control. Sousa trying to control but Hioki is having none of it. Sousa controlling the pace for now. Sousa avoids the attempt from Hioki to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sousa putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Hioki is looking to improve his position but Sousa isn't that keen on the idea. Sousa looking to finish Hioki with some ground and pound. This is bad for Hioki! Sousa prevents Hioki from getting the reversal. Sousa is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hioki has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Sousa dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hioki gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Sousa counters by moving into the clinch. Sousa breaks the clinch.
Sousa thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Hioki if he has to take too many more of those.
Hioki uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sousa. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hioki is defended easily by Sousa. Sousa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hioki is breathing heavily. Hioki tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Hioki drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hioki has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Sousa to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Hioki is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Sousa pulls down on the head and he's put Hioki to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Josh Sousa!
