Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Foreman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralph Wiggums (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Foreman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ralph Wiggums!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Illya Tyunina and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foreman leaves Wiggums with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Wiggums gets the takedown into side control.
Foreman is not content to let Wiggums control the position.
Wiggums tries to move to full mount but Foreman actually manages to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Foreman tries to kick Wiggums off but Wiggums keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Wiggums seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Foreman wants to get back to his feet.

Wiggums is looking for a kimura but Foreman is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wiggums to get the leverage.
Wiggums with the ground and pound but Foreman uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Wiggums wants to stand but Foreman has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Foreman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Wiggums missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Wiggums throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Foreman throws a nice looking combination but Wiggums bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Wiggums shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Foreman but Foreman pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Wiggums feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Foreman pushes Wiggums off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Foreman takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Foreman jabs Wiggums right on the nose. Wiggums blinks but takes it well.

Foreman bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Wiggums's head backwards.

Foreman lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Foreman throws a combination. Wiggums tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Foreman misses with a series of wild punches.
Foreman moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Foreman swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Wiggums.

Foreman drops Wiggums with a right and a left! Foreman comes rushing in but Wiggums regains his composure and manages to keep Foreman in guard.

Foreman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Foreman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Foreman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Foreman stands up and waves to Wiggums to follow him.
Foreman works over Wiggums's head and body with a nice combination.
Wiggums on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Foreman throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wiggums on the side of the head.
Wiggums throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Foreman's waist but Foreman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wiggums off to one side.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wiggums can do anything to dispel that myth.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wiggums is working an open guard so Foreman takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
