1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pete Martin! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carneiro will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Carneiro shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Carneiro shoots for a takedown but Martin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Carneiro shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Martin counters with a nice double leg into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carneiro wants to improve his position but instead Martin has moved into half guard.

Carneiro is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Martin reverses the position - he's now on top in Carneiro's guard. Martin is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Carneiro is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Carneiro has escaped and now he's on top! Martin keeping moving, preventing Carneiro from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Martin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Martin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Martin prevents Carneiro from getting the reversal. Martin looking to secure an arm triangle but Carneiro defends it well. Martin jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Carneiro is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Carneiro and Martin has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Carneiro tries to buck Martin off but Martin is having none of it. Martin goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Carneiro has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Martin but great work by Carneiro. Martin is looking to regain half guard here but Carneiro keeps moving and retains side control. A lull in the action here as Carneiro stalls from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Carneiro tries to move into full mount but can't pass Martin's legs. Carneiro is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Martin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Carneiro in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Carneiro slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Martin. Martin really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Carneiro thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Carneiro controlling from the full mount. Carneiro can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Martin is looking to escape. Carneiro tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Martin manages to regain half guard. Good work. Martin tries to get to full guard but Carneiro has control of the leg. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carneiro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Martin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Carneiro trying to control the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Pete Martin will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Not yet Carneiro, not yet. Carneiro is working hard here to advance position. Carneiro is trying to keep Martin in close.

Carneiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Martin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gesias Carneiro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Carneiro controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Carneiro wants to pass the guard but Martin is keeping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Carneiro stopping the sweep attempt from Martin. Martin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Carneiro! Martin working for a submission but Carneiro is keeping him at bay. Pete Martin has got the better of the ground game so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carneiro bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
And that's the end of the fight! Gesias Carneiro showed his dominance in that final round. Well Martin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
