PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Black Ninja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Rogerio Noguiera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Black Ninja!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Antonio Rogerio Noguiera!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noguiera moves in looking to clinch but Ninja pushes him off.

Noguiera closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Noguiera tries to move to mount but Ninja blocks the move with his legs.

Noguiera is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ninja has escaped the position, nice work there.
Noguiera working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Noguiera swings around for an armbar but Ninja sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Noguiera's guard.

Ninja drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ninja jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Noguiera is trying to keep Ninja in close.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ninja not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Ninja wants to control from the top but Noguiera keeps moving.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Noguiera is on top in guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Noguiera tries to stand but Ninja is controlling from the bottom.

Noguiera wants to stand but Ninja has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Noguiera looks gassed!

Noguiera pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ninja is keeping the position for now.

Noguiera wants to get up but he can't break Ninja's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Noguiera is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Noguiera misses with a straight left.
Ninja shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Noguiera counters with a shoot takedown. Ninja fights it but they end up in guard.
Noguiera wants to stand but Ninja has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Noguiera controls from within his opponent's guard.
Ninja has a closed guard, preventing Noguiera from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Antonio Rogerio Noguiera dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Noguiera has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ninja is working away from the top position though.

Noguiera pushes Ninja off looking to stand but Ninja dives back in and keeps control.

Ninja seems to be looking for submissions.

Noguiera is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ninja pulls his head out easily.
Noguiera has his hands clasped together around Ninja's back. He's all about the action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Noguiera throws a combination that misses

and Ninja counters with a nice double leg into side control. Noguiera won't be happy with that.

Noguiera is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ninja's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Ninja seems to be looking for submissions.
Noguiera gets back to full guard.
Noguiera is trying to keep Ninja in close.

Ninja avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Noguiera wants to sweep but no luck.

Ninja drops back looking for a leg! Noguiera is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Noguiera manages to kick Ninja off! Ninja jumps back into Noguiera's guard.

Noguiera is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Noguiera misses with a takedown attempt

and Ninja counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Noguiera!
Noguiera is desperately trying to improve his position but Ninja has a good base and remains in mount.

Ninja has control of Noguiera's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Noguiera regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Ninja prevents Noguiera from getting the reversal.
Noguiera tries to lock up and control but Ninja gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Black Ninja dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Noguiera is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ninja's half guard.
Ninja is refusing to be controlled, as Noguiera sits in half guard.
Noguiera stalling away here and it's allowed Ninja to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Noguiera looking to sit in guard and control but Ninja gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ninja stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Noguiera swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ninja got a little sloppy there for a moment and Noguiera has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ninja has managed to get both his arms back between Noguiera's legs - danger averted.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Noguiera is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ninja defends well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ninja tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Noguiera comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

and Ninja counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Noguiera's guard now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Black Ninja.
I think Ninja has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
