Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chilo Menga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Churches (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Menga.
Churches manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Churches seems to be looking for submissions.
Menga is trying to get back to full guard.
Menga has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Churches is working away from the top position though.

Churches closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Churches decides to stand back up. Churches steps back and let's Menga get back to his feet.
Menga takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Menga has closed the distance and engaged Churches in a clinch.

Menga fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Churches sprawls well initially but Menga persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Menga seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Menga seems to be working for a kimura but Churches defends the submission attempt.
Menga lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Churches has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Menga is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Churches.

Menga has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Menga is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Menga has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Churches wriggles free and stands up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
