Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Glass Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramon Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin has chosen É so pentada violenta as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ramon Martin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Glass Joe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ramon Martin! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Joe stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Joe is looking to chop away at Martin's legs. Martin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Joe is fending him off so far but Martin persists. Nope, Joe circles away and we're back to standing. Martin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Martin showed some decent athleticism there. Joe gets full guard. Martin trying to control the position from guard on top but Joe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Martin throws and elbow that misses. Joe uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Martin's guard. Nice move by Joe! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Joe makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Joe slips nicely into half guard. Joe looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Joe is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Joe thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Martin's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joe moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Martin. Joe in side control lands a decent elbow. Martin wants to control but Joe postures up. Joe tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Martin taking punishment in the form of punches.
Joe working the head and body with strikes. Martin gets back to half guard. Martin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Martin. Martin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Joe passes into half guard. Martin wants to improve his position but Joe is controlling well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Joe connects with a nice short shot to Martin's temple. Martin flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Martin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Joe is working away from the top position though. Martin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Joe's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Joe's back! Martin looking to break Joe's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Joe remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Martin will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Martin looks gassed! Martin is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Joe defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Martin doesn't have the hooks in and Joe manages to turn into his guard.
Joe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Joe working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Joe with a nice head shot there. Joe looking to pass the guard. Joe really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Joe lands a couple of digs. Joe connects with a couple of short punches. Joe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Martin can't keep his opponent in guard - Joe advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Martin wants to control but Joe passes into side.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Joe lands some shots froms side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Glass Joe dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Martin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ramon Martin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Martin doesn't succeed with the takedown and Joe counters with a takedown into side control. Martin manages to work his way to half guard, despite Joe's best efforts. Martin pushes Joe off looking to stand but Joe dives back in and keeps control.
Joe takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Joe working the head and body with strikes. Joe seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Joe tries to pass to full mount but Martin defends it. Joe lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Martin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Joe's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Joe's back! Joe trying to control the hands but Martin won't let him. Joe surviving as best he can, preventing damage.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Joe tries to get out of the position. Martin is just content to waste time from the top position. Joe takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Martin trying to control the position from guard on top but Joe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Joe is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Joe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. Martin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Joe's guard. Martin is trying to control. Joe wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Joe preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Martin is thwarting Joe's attempts to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Glass Joe dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Joe is trying to maintain the position but Martin is very close to passing his half guard. Martin passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Joe! Joe is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Ramon Martin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Martin fails to take his opponent's back. Joe is squirming around, avoiding Martin's attempts to control the action. A nice elbow there by Martin. Martin thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Glass Joe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Joe tries to lock up and control but Martin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Martin goes for an armbar but Joe turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Joe.
And that's the end of the fight! Glass Joe showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Joe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
