Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andy Wilkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kananga Vasco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasco is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Whiskey in the Jar. Kananga Vasco will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andy Wilkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kananga Vasco! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilkins darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Vasco looking for submissions off his back. Wilkins sitting and controlling from the half guard. Vasco tries to get to full guard but Wilkins has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilkins is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Vasco reverses the position - he's now on top in Wilkins's guard. Vasco is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wilkins is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Wilkins has escaped and now he's on top! Vasco is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Vasco working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wilkins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wilkins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Wilkins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilkins's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Vasco keeping full guard, as Wilkins tries to pass. Wilkins is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Vasco throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Vasco can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wilkins controls the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andy Wilkins dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Vasco gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Wilkins is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Andy Wilkins just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Wilkins is looking to clinch. Wilkins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vasco paws at him with a jab and circles away. Vasco misses with a takedown and Wilkins counters with a single leg into guard. Vasco didn't expect that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilkins controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Vasco escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wilkins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wilkins is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Wilkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vasco swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilkins has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Vasco escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wilkins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wilkins is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Wilkins seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Vasco for as long as he can get away with. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wilkins scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee asks Wilkins politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Wilkins prefers to stall for the moment though. Wilkins scores with a couple of short elbows. Vasco is trying to escape the position but Wilkins is controlling the position. Wilkins working the ground and pound from side control. Wilkins just content to control the position.

Vasco fights it but they end up in guard. Wilkins's corner is telling him to maintain position. Wilkins missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Andy Wilkins is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Vasco takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. You can see the frustration on Vasco's face as Wilkins controls the position. Kananga Vasco has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! Andy Wilkins showed his dominance in that final round. Well Wilkins has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
