Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Davenport (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Veneracion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davenport's entrance music is Ruff Ryders - World War III. A fine choice. Veneracion comes into a darkened arena with his song building. faint kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jason Davenport! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karl Veneracion! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davenport closes this distance looking for a takedown but Veneracion circles away. Veneracion connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Veneracion shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Davenport's guard. Davenport avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Veneracion slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Veneracion wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davenport keeps working. Veneracion is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Davenport knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Veneracion working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Veneracion throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Veneracion in side control lands a decent elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Veneracion working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Veneracion working the ground and pound from side control. Veneracion tries to score with some ground and pound. Davenport controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Veneracion sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Davenport is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The strikes coming from Veneracion are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Veneracion is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Davenport is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Veneracion looks gassed! Veneracion tries for a kimura but Davenport is defending well. Veneracion working away. Veneracion trying to control the position but Davenport is working away. Veneracion creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Davenport sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Veneracion is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Davenport has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davenport tries to get back to half guard but can't. Veneracion tries to stand but Davenport is controlling his head. Veneracion fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Davenport knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Veneracion on the ground.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Veneracion fails with the takedown and Davenport counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Davenport.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davenport lands a couple of decent looking shots. Davenport distracts Veneracion with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Davenport won't allow Veneracion to get back to his feet. Veneracion looking for a triangle here. Davenport is fighting it but it looks tight! Veneracion pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Davenport is tapping out - this one is all over!
