PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jetsky Luckson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Luckson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Stronger. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jetsky Luckson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bruce Parker!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Parker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Parker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Luckson is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Parker has hold of Luckson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Luckson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Parker moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Luckson has worked his arm free - good work by Luckson!

Parker wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Luckson, who protects the arm well.

You can see the frustration on Luckson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Luckson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Parker's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Parker is looking for a kimura but Luckson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Parker to get the leverage.

Luckson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Parker pulls his head out easily.
Parker wants to pass the guard but Luckson is defending well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Parker seems to be looking for submissions.
Luckson is trying to control but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Parker looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Luckson is fending him off so far but Parker persists. Nope, Luckson circles away and we're back to standing.
Parker swats away the attempt to clinch by Luckson.
Parker looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jetsky Luckson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Parker.

Luckson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Parker's half guard.

Luckson escapes and gets back to his feet.

Luckson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Parker did well to prevent Luckson getting side control.
Parker wants to improve his position but Luckson is controlling well.

Parker misses with a takedown attempt

and Luckson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Parker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Luckson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Parker has his foot on Luckson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Luckson works his way back into a safe position though.

Parker is looking for a triangle but Luckson pushes his legs off easily.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Luckson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Luckson prevents Parker from getting the reversal.
Parker sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Luckson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Luckson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Luckson wants to stand but Parker has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Parker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Luckson defends it easily.

Parker is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Luckson defends well.

Parker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Luckson tries to stand but Parker is controlling from the bottom.

Luckson gets to his feet - Parker follows without any prompting.
Luckson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Parker swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Parker doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Luckson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Parker's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Parker throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Luckson escapes and throws Parker's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Luckson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Parker down.
Luckson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Parker keeps working.

Parker looks to move to half guard but instead Luckson has passed into mount! Damn!
Parker is looking to improve his position but Luckson isn't that keen on the idea.
Luckson wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Parker is in a horrible position here. Luckson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Luckson prevents Parker from getting the reversal.

Luckson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Parker turns into him and now he's in Luckson's guard.

Parker drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Parker as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Luckson screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Parker! Nice submission victory there!
