Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Rabago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Rabago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Silva!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Silva misses with a takedown

and Rabago counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rabago.
Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Rabago trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Silva looking for a sweep. Not yet Silva, not yet.
Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rabago controls the pace.
Rabago postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rabago is one step ahead there.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rabago accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rabago looks for the body kick but Silva saw that one coming.
Rabago tries a head kick but it misses.

Silva shoots in and bounces Rabago off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Silva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Rabago keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
Rabago controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself.
Silva slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Silva postures up.

Silva throws a strike but Rabago rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rabago working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Rabago wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

Rabago gets to his feet - Silva follows without any prompting.
Rabago throws a combination. Silva tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Matt Silva has been cut.

Rabago gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Silva counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Silva looks gassed!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Silva decides to stand and escape the position.
Silva falls off balance throwing a combination

and Rabago counters by moving into the clinch.

Rabago tightens his grip and picks Silva up, before dumping him to the ground. Silva manages to land in guard.

Rabago gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rabago is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Silva has taken his back!

Rabago trying to get back to his feet but Silva is in full control for now.
Silva is breathing heavily.

Silva tries to keep control of the position but Rabago is staying busy.
Matt Silva has got the better of the ground game so far.
Silva wants to control the position but Rabago frees himself and scrambles - Silva manages to regain control in side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rabago is trying hard to land a takedown here. Silva sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

and Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rabago's guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Rabago. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva trying to control but Rabago is working from the bottom.
Silva won't allow Rabago to get back to his feet.
Silva wants to control from the top but Rabago keeps moving.

Silva passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Silva working away.
Silva trying to control the position but Rabago is working away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rabago dodges the ground and pound from Silva.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Silva tries to clinch there but Rabago circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Silva. No joy for Rabago on that attempt.

Rabago drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Rabago stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Rabago scores with a jab. Silva acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Silva is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Rabago is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silva wants to control from the top but Rabago keeps moving.
Silva has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rabago is proving hard to escape from.
Silva trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Silva slips a jab and a cross from Rabago.
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Rabago closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rabago lands in his opponent's guard.
Silva is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rabago is controlling him.
Silva can't keep his opponent in guard - Rabago advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Rabago slows the pace down in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rabago connects with a nice short shot to Silva's temple.
Rabago trying to control the action but Silva is working from the bottom.
Rabago stops Silva from getting back to his feet.

Rabago is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Rabago decides to stand up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Adam Rabago showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Rabago has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
