Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Craig Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter comes to the cage accompanied by Linkin Park - New Divide. Torres has chosen It's My Time-Fabulous as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Craig Carter! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Felipe Torres! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Torres throws a body punch but Carter moves out of range. Carter throws a right and a left that Torres avoids nicely. Carter's corner calls for a 1-2. Carter obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Carter throws a right and a left that both miss. Torres throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Carter counters with a straight right hand. Carter swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Torres throws a lazy head kick and Carter counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Torres is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Torres swings for the body but Carter moves out of range.
Carter misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Torres counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Carter gets a clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Carter takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Torres tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Carter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Torres swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Carter counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Torres tries to work over Carter's front leg with a kick but Carter checks it. Craig Carter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Torres pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Torres fails with the takedown and Carter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Carter slips under a jab. Carter thows a left - swing and a miss! Carter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Torres. Carter swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Torres counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Torres throws a sloppy head kick and Carter moves out of range easily. Torres gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Carter counters with a nice body shot. Craig Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felipe Torres. Torres looks gassed! Carter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Torres.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Carter throws a leg kick that misses. Torres scoring well with a low kick there.
Carter fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Torres is out of range. Carter lands a nice shot that snaps Torres's head back.
Torres throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Torres misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Torres misses with a hook to the body
and Carter counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Torres takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Carter cracks Torres with an open hand slap. A jab from Carter misses. Felipe Torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carter lands with a good body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Torres throws a push kick but Carter slaps the foot to one side. Carter displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Torres is rocked! Torres misses the jab. Carter clobbers Torres with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Torres is still on wobbly legs! Can Carter finish him? Torres slips a jab and a cross from Carter.
Torres uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Carter. Torres seems to have recovered his senses. Good work by Torres as he checks the leg kick. Carter feints and then cracks Torres's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Torres down. Carter moves out of range as Torres throws a body kick.
Carter cracks the inside of Torres's front leg. Torres throws a half hearted mid kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carter takes a jab right on the kisser.
Carter motions for Torres to come forward. Carter throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Torres swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Torres misses with a straight left. Carter scores with a three punch combo!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Decent striking displayed by Carter there. Torres ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Carter moves away. Torres throws a leg kick but Carter moved away. Torres throws a sloppy head kick and Carter moves out of range easily. Carter is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carter misses with a wild combination.
Carter is looking to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Craig Carter dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Torres scores with a jab to the jaw. Torres misses with a takedown and Carter counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Carter stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Carter lands a jab to the nose. A left lands for Torres. A nice leg kick lands there from Carter. Carter throws a left and a right that both miss
and Torres counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Carter has his hands on Torres's head, controlling the position. Carter looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Torres is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Torres tries to free his leg and advance position but Carter is retaining full guard. Torres trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Carter manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Carter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Torres swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Carter passes into half guard. Well, if Carter is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Torres tries to roll over but Carter keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Torres moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Carter looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Carter's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Carter trying to control but Torres is working from the bottom. Torres has his foot on Carter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carter works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Craig Carter dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A looping hook to the body misses from Carter. Torres does a little dance to reset his feet. Torres checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Torres ducks right into an uppercut from Carter. Torres is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Carter. Carter dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Torres. That did some damage! Carter uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Torres. Carter throws a body punch but Torres moves out of range. Torres keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Carter connects with a single shot there. Torres fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Carter looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Torres ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Craig Carter is winning the standup battle so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Torres falls off balance throwing a combination
and Carter counters with a good low kick that Torres was not able to check. Torres takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. A telegraphed right hand from Torres misses the target. Torres swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Torres misses with a takedown and Carter makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Carter throws a jab but it's blocked by Torres. Carter pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Carter throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Torres stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Carter scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Carter clinches up with Torres and pushes him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A shot in the inside from Carter. Torres can't break the clinch.
Carter drops Torres onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Torres is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet! Carter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Carter lunges at Torres with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Torres's hand. Torres misses with a looping left. Carter fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Torres. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Carter misses with a looping left. Good work by Torres as he checks the leg kick. Torres misses with a shot to the body and Carter counters with a leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Torres dodges the punch combination from Carter.
Carter throws out a loose jab but Torres uses good head movement to avoid it. Carter paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Carter dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Torres. That did some damage! Carter scores with a hook. Donk. Carter catches Torres right on the button with a cross. Carter misses with a combination
and Torres counters with a nice body shot. Carter rushes Torres with punches - Torres moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Torres goes down! Carter follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Craig Carter! Craig Carter retains his featherweight title!
