Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Delay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenny Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomi has chosen Slaap lekker! as his entrance music. Kenny Gomi is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jason Delay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kenny Gomi! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Delay clobbers Gomi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Nice takedown defense from Delay. No joy for Gomi on that attempt. Delay throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Delay missing with a left hand there. Gomi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Gomi shoots in for a takedown but Delay shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Delay rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gomi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Delay defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gomi. Jason Delay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenny Gomi. Delay ducks under a wild hook from Gomi. Kenny Gomi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Delay misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Delay displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gomi throws out the jab. Delay lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Gomi dodges the punch combination from Delay.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gomi throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gomi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Gomi lands with a hook. Delay tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Delay misses with a combination
and Gomi counters with a nice low kick that buckles Delay's knee momentarily. Delay swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gomi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A looping hook to the body misses from Gomi. Delay does a little dance to reset his feet. Delay misses with a double jab
and Gomi counters with a takedown into side control. Delay tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Gomi presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Gomi thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Delay blocking the ground and pound. Gomi throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Delay in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Gomi working for a guillotine from mount but Delay is in no mood to give up. Gomi landing strikes from the mount. Delay on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Delay tries to get out of the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gomi working the ground and pound effectively.
Delay is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gomi trying to control but he's not successful this time. Delay tries to hold on but Gomi pushes him away. Gomi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Delay can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Gomi prevents Delay from getting the reversal. Delay wants to try and get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Gomi with good strikes from the mount here! Delay is squirming around, avoiding Gomi's attempts to control the action. Gomi sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Delay is trying to stand up. Delay tries to hold on but Gomi postures up. Gomi throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Delay has his hands clasped together but Gomi breaks the hold and Delay is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Gomi!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kenny Gomi!
