Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Severtson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dana Jelle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Severtson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dana Jelle! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Severtson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Severtson shoots in but no luck this time. Jelle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Severtson fails with a takedown attempt. Jelle stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Severtson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Horrible takedown by Severtson or perhaps it was just good defense by Jelle which made him look bad. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jelle. Jelle decides to stand back up. Severtson with a lazy takedown attempt and Jelle counters with a takedown into side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Severtson tries to buck Jelle off but Jelle is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jelle is looking to take a break and control but Severtson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jelle stands up. Severtson is breathing heavily. Severtson tries for a takedown but Jelle circles away easily and Jelle connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jelle wants to clinch up but Severtson keeps it at a distance. Jelle clinches with his opponent.
Jelle breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Severtson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jelle counters with a shoot takedown. Severtson fights it but they end up in guard. Jelle with a nice head shot there. Jelle content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Jelle pushes down on Severtson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Jelle perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Severtson is defending against the submission attempts here by Jelle.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jelle controlling the action here. Severtson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jelle pulls his head out easily. Jelle wants to pass to mount but Severtson is defending the position. Jelle wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jelle content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Severtson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jelle scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jelle trying to mount his opponent but Severtson defends it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Severtson tries for a takedown but Jelle circles away easily and Jelle counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Jelle works his foot free and advances to mount. Jelle landing strikes from the mount. Severtson is looking to get to half guard. Severtson is in a horrible position here. Jelle smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jelle cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Severtson is trying to escape the mount but Jelle keeps good control and instead manages to take Severtson's back.

Jelle is riding his opponent, not letting Severtson buck him off. Jelle is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Jelle has the hooks in. Severtson is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Jelle just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jelle trying to control momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dana Jelle dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Jelle shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Severtson is trying to reverse the position but instead Jelle has taken his back - oops! Severtson is really stuck here.
What can Severtson do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Jelle uses his free foot to push down on Severtson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Severtson. Severtson manages to regain half guard. Good work. Severtson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jelle pulls his head out easily. Dana Jelle has got the better of the ground game so far. Severtson looking for submissions off his back. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jelle slows the pace down in half guard. Jelle stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Severtson fails with the takedown and Jelle counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Severtson! Severtson is looking to improve his position but Jelle isn't that keen on the idea. Severtson is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jelle lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Severtson hang on? Jelle with good strikes from the mount here! Severtson is trying to escape the mount.
Jelle looking to control but Severtson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jelle lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Severtson hang on? Jelle tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Severtson is trying desperately to improve position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jelle lands a big shot there that rocks Severtson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Severtson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Severtson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jelle connects with a nice short shot to Severtson's temple. Jelle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jelle wants to stand up but Severtson is controlling the position.
Jelle thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Severtson's head.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jelle. Jelle trying to control the position but Severtson is working away. Severtson is looking for a sweep. Jelle trying to control the position but Severtson is working away. Jelle cracks Severtson with a big right hand but Severtson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Dana Jelle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Severtson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Severtson is looking to regain half guard here but Jelle keeps moving and retains side control. Jelle grinds an elbow into Severtson's temple. Jelle stands up and we're back to a striking position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Severtson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jelle to score an easy takedown into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jelle trying to control the position from guard on top but Severtson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Severtson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jelle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jelle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Severtson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Severtson has his foot on Jelle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jelle works his way back into a safe position though. Jelle postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Severtson working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Jelle has passed into half guard!

Jelle bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Jelle working the body and head with strikes. Severtson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Severtson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Severtson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's better than Jelle was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Jelle seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Severtson is holding on tight.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Severtson is looking to improve his position but Jelle isn't that keen on the idea. Jelle takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Severtson is looking to get to half guard. Jelle has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Jelle postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Severtson looks a forlorn figure.
And that's the end of the fight! Dana Jelle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jelle has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
