Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adam Saburo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Hoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam Saburo looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Saburo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryu Hoshi!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saburo has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Saburo there as he acknowledges the shot.
Saburo looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Hoshi has closed the distance and engaged Saburo in a clinch.

Hoshi breaks from the clinch.
Saburo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hoshi as he jumps to the side.
Hoshi lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Saburo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hoshi scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Saburo takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Hoshi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hoshi decides to stand back up.

Hoshi shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hoshi is trying to control the action in half guard but Saburo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Hoshi wants to stand up but Saburo is controlling the position.

Saburo won't allow Hoshi to pass to mount.
Hoshi lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Hoshi wants to stand but Saburo has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Hoshi is looking for a kimura but Saburo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hoshi to get the leverage.
Hoshi lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Hoshi is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Hoshi is trying to control. Saburo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Saburo is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hoshi scores with a couple of nice shots.
Saburo is not content to let Hoshi control the position.

Hoshi drops an elbow to the side of Saburo's head.
Hoshi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Saburo's head.

Hoshi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Saburo has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Saburo bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Saburo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hoshi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hoshi gets caught flat footed, as Saburo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Saburo wants to control from the top but Hoshi keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hoshi is trying to keep Saburo in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryu Hoshi dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Saburo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Saburo tries to clinch but Hoshi moves out of range.

Hoshi jumps guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoshi wriggles free and stands up.

Hoshi stalks Saburo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Saburo's face. Saburo staggers backwards, shaken.
Hoshi goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Hoshi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Hoshi in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hoshi decides to stand up, so the ref orders Saburo to his feet.
Hoshi staying out of range there.
Adam Saburo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hoshi cracks Saburo with a right hand to the side of the head.
Hoshi scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Saburo is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Hoshi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hoshi lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hoshi.

Hoshi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hoshi lands in his opponent's guard.
Hoshi is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Hoshi looking to sit in guard and control but Saburo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Saburo postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hoshi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hoshi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hoshi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hoshi is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Ryu Hoshi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

so Hoshi counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Saburo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Saburo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hoshi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Saburo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hoshi is proving hard to escape from.

Hoshi is working an open guard so Saburo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

No luck for Hoshi with that takedown attempt.

Hoshi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Saburo has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hoshi has passed into side control.
Saburo struggling a bit here.

Hoshi stands up and we're back to a striking position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hoshi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Saburo was covering up waiting for the punch and Hoshi finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Adam Saburo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ryu Hoshi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Saburo has his foot on Hoshi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hoshi works his way back into a safe position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ryu Hoshi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hoshi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
