1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Xuwicha Praphasirirat! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Novitskiy lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Novitskiy. Praphasirirat throws a quick inside leg kick. Novitskiy swinging wildly here.
Novitskiy fails with a takedown attempt. Praphasirirat drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Praphasirirat stops Novitskiy from standing up. Novitskiy has a closed guard, preventing Praphasirirat from standing up. Praphasirirat should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's one minute gone in the round. Novitskiy wants to get back to his feet but Praphasirirat is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Praphasirirat really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Novitskiy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Praphasirirat is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Novitskiy wants to get back to his feet but Praphasirirat is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Praphasirirat tries to clinch but Novitskiy moves out of range. Novitskiy misses with a takedown attempt and Praphasirirat counters with a nice double leg into side control. Novitskiy won't be happy with that. Novitskiy wants to get back to his feet. That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Praphasirirat decides to stand back up. Praphasirirat steps back and let's Novitskiy get back to his feet. A solid leg kick lands there for Praphasirirat.

Praphasirirat throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Novitskiy was covering up waiting for the punch and Praphasirirat finishes the takedown easily into guard. Praphasirirat's corner is telling him to maintain position. Praphasirirat must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Praphasirirat loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Novitskiy looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Praphasirirat with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Praphasirirat tries to close the distance and clinch up but Novitskiy swats him away and circles back towards the center. Praphasirirat moves in looking to clinch but Novitskiy pushes him off. Praphasirirat doesn't manage to clinch there - Novitskiy circles away.
Novitskiy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Praphasirirat. Praphasirirat misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Novitskiy tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Praphasirirat closes the distance and clinches. Praphasirirat has Novitskiy pushed against the cage. Praphasirirat escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Xuwicha Praphasirirat showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

He's got his arms around Novitskiy's waist but Novitskiy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Praphasirirat off to one side. Praphasirirat throws a push kick but Novitskiy slaps the foot to one side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Praphasirirat has a takedown stuffed. Novitskiy wants to clinch up but Praphasirirat keeps it at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Novitskiy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Praphasirirat makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Novitskiy tries to clinch but Praphasirirat moves away and Praphasirirat counters with a nice double leg into side control. Novitskiy won't be happy with that. Novitskiy is trying to buck Praphasirirat off. Praphasirirat in side control, throwing shots but Novitskiy defends.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Praphasirirat politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Praphasirirat prefers to stall for the moment though. Praphasirirat sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Novitskiy is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Praphasirirat shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Novitskiy is trying to defend but Praphasirirat finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Praphasirirat prevents Novitskiy from standing back up.

Xuwicha Praphasirirat is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Novitskiy looks to clinch and Praphasirirat counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Praphasirirat closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Novitskiy to the mat! Novitskiy manages to get full guard. Xuwicha Praphasirirat has got the better of the ground game so far. Praphasirirat sitting in guard here, content to control. Alexandr Novitskiy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Novitskiy throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
And that's the end of the fight! Xuwicha Praphasirirat comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Praphasirirat has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
