Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Rubstoo Grimwacker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Alan Winters! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winters looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Grimwacker is fending him off so far but Winters persists. Nope, Grimwacker circles away and we're back to standing. Grimwacker throws a nice looking combination but Winters bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Grimwacker tries to clinch but Winters moves out of range. Grimwacker looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Winters tries for a takedown but Grimwacker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Winters drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Winters is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Grimwacker has escaped the position, nice work there. Winters goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Grimwacker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Winters but great work by Grimwacker. Winters is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Winters gets full guard. Winters is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Grimwacker defends well. Winters looks gassed! Grimwacker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Winters swivels though and keeps the full guard. Grimwacker has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grimwacker is looking to stand up but Winters won't let him. Grimwacker gets to his feet - Winters follows without any prompting. Grimwacker swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Winters lands a glancing blow to the side of Grimwacker's head. Winters has taken the fight to the clinch.
Grimwacker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Grimwacker tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Winters counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Grimwacker!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Winters looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Winters working for a guillotine from mount but Grimwacker is in no mood to give up. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Winters moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Grimwacker has worked his arm free - good work by Grimwacker!
Grimwacker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Winters on the ground. Winters thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Grimwacker is trying to control Winters's posture but Winters avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Winters is trying to get an arm triangle but Grimwacker is defending well. Winters goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Grimwacker rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Winters's guard! Nice work there by Grimwacker! Winters is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Grimwacker is pressed up against the cage. Winters has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Grimwacker down to the mat. Grimwacker avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rubstoo Grimwacker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Winters. Grimwacker pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Winters scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Winters is defended easily by Grimwacker. Grimwacker displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Winters. Grimwacker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Grimwacker wants it to stay on the feet. No luck for Winters with that takedown attempt. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Winters scores with a takedown into Grimwacker's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Winters looking to pass the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alan Winters dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Grimwacker closes the distance and clinches. Winters has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Grimwacker clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Winters is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Winters working for the choke. This has been an exciting period of action! Winters looking for the choke from the back. Winters looking for the RNC. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Winters working for a choke but Grimwacker reverses nicely into Winters 's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grimwacker wants to pass the guard but Winters is keeping the position. Winters is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Grimwacker has his hands clasped together but Winters extends an breaks Grimwacker's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Winters.
