The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Uwukiwe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Uwukiwe pushes him off.
Johnson throws a jab but it's blocked by Uwukiwe.
Uwukiwe misses with a jab, cross combination.
Johnson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Mathew Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Uwukiwe's waist but Uwukiwe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side.

and Uwukiwe counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Johnson is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Johnson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Uwukiwe uses from the top position.

Johnson is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Uwukiwe has his hands clasped together but Johnson extends an breaks Uwukiwe's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Johnson.
