Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mohamad Najar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sandor Clegane! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clegane drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Najar struggling a bit here. Najar is trying to improve his position. Najar is trying to control Clegane's posture but Clegane avoids it. Najar regains half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Clegane seems to be looking for submissions.
Najar tries to roll over but Clegane keeps him under control. Najar is working hard here to advance position. Najar is breathing heavily. Clegane is working for a kimura but Najar is defending it quite comfortably.
Najar wants to control but Clegane is keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clegane passes to side control. Najar defending against the ground and pound. Clegane trying to control the action but Najar is working from the bottom. Najar is looking for a sweep. Clegane looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Najar is avoiding damage well.
Najar is trying to control Clegane's posture but Clegane avoids it. Clegane controls the position. Clegane throwing shots but missing, from side control. An elbow from Clegane crashes against the mat.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Najar gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Clegane holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Clegane has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Najar clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clegane missing with punches from the back. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Clegane biding his time, controlling Najar. Clegane is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Najar. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Clegane controlling well, preventing Najar from escaping the position.
Clegane throwing damaging strikes from the back! Najar could be in trouble here!
Najar trying to control but not successfully. Najar tries to break free.
Najar tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Clegane unloads with some shots from mount but Najar bucks and avoids them well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clegane working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Najar manages to regain half guard. Good work. Najar moves into full guard.
Clegane wants to control from the top but Najar keeps moving. Clegane drops back looking for a leg! Najar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Najar manages to kick Clegane off! Clegane jumps back into Najar's guard. Najar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Clegane can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Najar looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Clegane trying to control the position from guard on top but Najar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Clegane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Najar swivels though and keeps the full guard. Clegane must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Clegane trying to control but Najar is working from the bottom. Clegane passes into half guard. Clegane decides to return to a standing position. Clegane throws an overhand right that has Najar reeling! Clegane follows up with a more punches and Najar is out cold! This one is all over!
