Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Merv Ridley! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ridley avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Farmer tries to clinch there but Ridley circles away.
Farmer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Farmer seems to be looking for submissions.

Farmer tries to improve position but can't. Farmer tries to escape but Ridley is in control. Ridley moves into full mount! Ridley moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Farmer has worked his arm free - good work by Farmer!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Farmer won't allow Ridley to pass to mount. Farmer actively working from the bottom here. Farmer wants to control but Ridley is keeping busy.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ridley tries for a takedown but Farmer circles away easily and Farmer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ridley won't be happy with that. Farmer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ridley has escaped the position, nice work there. Ridley tries to buck Farmer off but Farmer is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ridley trying to remain calm as Farmer controls from the top position. Merv Ridley has got the better of the ground game so far. Ridley is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Farmer's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Ridley regains full guard. Nicely done. Farmer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ridley has a closed guard, preventing Farmer from standing up. Farmer passes Ridley's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ridley tries to roll over but Farmer keeps him under control.

Farmer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ridley defends it well. Ridley is looking to control Farmer's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ridley avoid being mounted? Ridley moves into full guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Farmer will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Ridley is lucky that one didn't land flush. Ridley with a lazy takedown attempt and Farmer counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Ridley takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Farmer moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Ridley. Farmer tries for a kimura but Ridley is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Farmer working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Farmer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ridley keeps working. Ridley gets back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Farmer is looking for a kimura but Ridley is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Farmer to get the leverage. Ridley tries to get to full guard but Farmer has control of the leg. Ridley is trying to control but can't.

Ridley gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Farmer counters with a big head kick but Ridley shrugs it off. John Farmer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Merv Ridley. Farmer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ridley swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ridley misses with a takedown attempt and Farmer counters with a flying knee. Nice. John Farmer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ridley takes a kick to the side of the head. Ridley takes a kick to the side of the head. Ridley avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ridley keeps the fight on the outside. Farmer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Farmer showed some decent athleticism there. Farmer is trying to work for a kimura but Ridley is defending well.
