Schmidli comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Busta Rhymes - Ante Up kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Marcus Schmidli has the better chin. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Jester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Schmidli!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Schmidli.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Schmidli.

Schmidli is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jester knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Schmidli tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Jester tries to bench press Schmidli off him but Schmidli keeps the position.

Schmidli decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Schmidli tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Schmidli tries to clinch there but Jester circles away.

Schmidli is looking to clinch but Jester is avoiding it.

and Schmidli counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Schmidli.

Schmidli thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Jester had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Schmidli defends it easily.

Jester is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jester is breathing heavily.
Jester avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jester is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jester missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Jester is working for a kimura here but Schmidli manages to reverse the position and he's now in Jester's guard.

Schmidli thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Jester is looking to sinch up a triangle. Schmidli throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Jester's body to avoid the submission. Jester has instead reached around Schmidli's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Jester arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Joe Jester!
