Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kinjo Sasake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Preston Schmidli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schmidli has chosen Billy Joel - Piano Man as his entrance music. Preston Schmidli will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kinjo Sasake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Preston Schmidli! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sasake darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Sasake not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Sasake looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Sasake looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Schmidli with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Sasake has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sasake seems to be looking for submissions.
Schmidli is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Schmidli is defending against the submission attempts here by Sasake.

That's one minute gone in the round. Sasake is looking for a kimura but Schmidli is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sasake to get the leverage. Sasake is looking for a kimura here.
Sasake is looking to take a break and control but Schmidli is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Schmidli is defending against the submission attempts here by Sasake.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Sasake is looking for a kimura here.
Sasake frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Schmidli tries to buck Sasake off but he can't manage it. Sasake is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Schmidli has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sasake goes for an armbar but Schmidli turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Schmidli. Schmidli stands up from guard. Let's bang! Schmidli tries to clinch but Sasake moves out of range. Sasake is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Schmidli's half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sasake is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Schmidli is just riding it out for now. Sasake eventually gives up the hold. Sasake is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Schmidli doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sasake.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sasake tries to pass to full mount but Schmidli defends it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sasake controlling the action here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kinjo Sasake dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Schmidli will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Schmidli gets the takedown into side control. Sasake struggling a bit here. Sasake is trying to get back to half guard. Sasake manages to work his way to half guard, despite Schmidli's best efforts. Schmidli stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Sasake to get to his feet. Schmidli gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sasake to score an easy takedown into full guard. Sasake trying to control the position from guard on top but Schmidli is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sasake throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Schmidli works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Schmidli keeping moving, preventing Sasake from controlling successfully. Schmidli manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Schmidli tries to clinch up but Sasake circles away and keeps his distance. Schmidli gets a takedown into half guard. Sasake moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Schmidli trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sasake's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sasake is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Schmidli has his hands clasped together but Sasake extends an breaks Schmidli's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Sasake.
