Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Hero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Rawse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hero's entrance music is No shelter - Rage against the machine. A fine choice. Rawse is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hustlin'. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Christopher Hero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Rawse! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hero looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A jab from Rawse misses. Rawse dodges the punch combination from Hero.
A combination from Hero does no damage. Hero works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Hero misses with a hook. Rawse throws a right and a left that Hero avoids nicely. Rawse jabs Hero right on the nose. Hero blinks but takes it well. Rawse avoids the head kick by Hero.
Hero shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Rawse looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Hero wants to stand up but Rawse has a hold of him and won't allow it. Rawse is trying to maintain the position but Hero is very close to passing his half guard. Rawse punching from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rawse is pressing down on Hero's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Rawse thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Hero is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rawse is on top in guard.
Rawse trying to control the position from guard on top but Hero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hero wants to stand and escape but Rawse is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rawse passes into half guard. Hero is not content to let Rawse control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hero controlling the position for now. Hero keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rawse is trying to work for a kimura but Hero is defending well.
Rawse is looking to advance position but Hero won't allow it. Rawse is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. The fighters are battling for position here. Hero manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rawse throws and elbow that misses. Hero uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rawse's guard. Nice move by Hero! Hero pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rawse is keeping the position for now. Hero postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hero stopping the sweep attempt from Rawse. Hero with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hero stands up from Rawse's guard - Hero perhaps looking for a knockout. Rawse throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Hero lands a head kick. Rawse smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Excellent takedown into side control there by Rawse. Rawse trying to control the position but Hero is working away. Rawse looks gassed! Hero regains half guard. Hero regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Rawse. Hero avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christopher Hero dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Rawse tries for a takedown but Hero sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Hero misses with a jab, cross combination.
Horrible takedown by Hero or perhaps it was just good defense by Rawse which made him look bad. Hero scores a takedown into full mount! Rawse tries to lock up and control but Hero gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Rawse swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Rawse is working to get back to half guard.
Hero looking to control but Rawse is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rawse gets back to half guard. Rawse is trying to control but can't.
Rawse keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rawse tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rawse moves into full guard.
Rawse preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Rawse is breathing heavily. Rawse is working an open guard so Hero takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Hero throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rawse stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Rawse changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hero tries to avoid it but Rawse manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hero to the ground. Hero escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hero feints and as Rawse raises his hands in defense, Hero changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Hero would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Hero gets to his feet - Rawse follows without any prompting. Rawse scores with a takedown into Hero's guard. Rawse throws a big right hand that misses. Hero wants to get back to his feet but Rawse is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hero is looking to stand back up but Rawse counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Hero. Rawse misses with a head shot. Hero uses the momentum to regain guard. Rawse is in close to Hero's body, working some short punches and elbows. Rawse trying to control but Hero is working from the bottom. Rawse prevents Hero from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rawse wants to control from the top but Hero keeps moving. Hero is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Rawse postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Rawse with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hero wants to sweep but no luck.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hero throws a hook but Rawse blocks it. Hero dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Hero connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Hero is looking to land body kicks. Hero lands a jab to the nose. Rawse darts in and clinches Hero up against the cage. Hero wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Hero manages to break the clinch.
Hero lands a lovely overhand right. Hero dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rawse. That did some damage! Jab from Hero. Hero showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rawse.
Hero scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Rawse drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Hero is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Rawse tries to clinch up. Hero lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christopher Hero dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Hero ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Christopher Hero is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hero scores with a kick to the midsection. Rawse throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hero lands with a hook. Rawse tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Hero has a takedown stuffed. Hero throws a series of punches but Rawse avoids them all with ease. Rawse ducks under a wild hook from Hero. Christopher Hero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rawse is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hero. Hero takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Rawse takes a kick to the side of the head. Hero walks into a jab. Rawse ducks right into an uppercut from Hero. Hero throws a right and a left that Rawse avoids nicely. Good shot there by Hero. Hero throws a combination that misses and Rawse counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rawse tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Rawse takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hero tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rawse in side control, throwing shots but Hero defends. Rawse throws an elbow but Hero slips to the side and avoids it well. Hero is trying to control Rawse's posture but Rawse avoids it. Rawse in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Rawse is trying to ground and pound but Hero uses the momentary lack of control by Rawse to regain half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hero misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rawse.
Hero throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rawse on the side of the head. Rawse avoids the body shot from Hero.
Hero lands with a nice combination. Rawse backs away looking to recover. Rawse scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Hero looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Hero drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rawse wants to control but Hero postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hero landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Rawse manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Hero tries to roll over but Rawse keeps him under control. Rawse is keen to just control but Hero is a slippery customer. Rawse throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Christopher Hero is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hero trying to control but Rawse postures up.
Rawse content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hero punching from the bottom.
Rawse has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rawse thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Hero to regain full guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rawse takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hero circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hero throws a lazy right hand but Rawse sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hero fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rawse manages to avoid it. Hero moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Hero throws a head kick that Rawse semi-blocks.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rawse gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hero accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that's the end of the fight! Christopher Hero showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hero, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
