Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Morrison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cobb Fury! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fury takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Fury wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Morrison lands a jab-cross combination. Morrison explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Morrison shoots in but no luck this time. Fury throws a combination that misses so Morrison counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Morrison forces his way into half guard. Fury really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Morrison. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fury is trying to stand.
Morrison works his foot free and advances to mount. Morrison looking for a guillotine from mount but Fury is having none of it. Fury defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Morrison.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morrison has hold of Fury's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Fury manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Fury is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Morrison will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Morrison working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Fury looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Morrison! Submission of the night perhaps?
