Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Shane Steel!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel has a takedown stuffed.
Steel avoids the body shot from Pain.

Pain wants to clinch up but Steel keeps it at a distance.

Steel shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pain is trying to defend but Steel finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Pain is looking to escape.
Steel is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pain wants to get back to his feet.

Shane Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pain bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Pain lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Pain keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Steel takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pain looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Pain counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Steel swats away the attempt to clinch by Pain.
Pain connects with the punch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Steel throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pain was covering up waiting for the punch and Steel finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Steel throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pain works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That was a close second round but I would say that Max Pain will probably get the nod.
That's time! Pain's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Pain cracks Steel with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Pain stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Shane Steel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pain wants to clinch.

and Pain counters with a three punch combo that has Steel backing up. Steel nods at Pain to acknowledge the strikes.

Pain pushes Steel up against the cage in a clinch.
Steel has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pain avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Pain is trying to drag Steel to the mat but Steel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Steel drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pain gets the underhooks and prevents it.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Max Pain.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pain, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
