Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sanius Viver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marshall has chosen lose yourself as his entrance music. Sanius Viver could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Andre Marshall's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sanius Viver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andre Marshall!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marshall feints and as Viver raises his hands in defense, Marshall changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marshall being controlled here momentarily.
Marshall controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Viver looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marshall is one step ahead there.
Marshall working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Marshall is looking to work some ground and pound but Viver has wrist control.
Viver pulls Marshall in to control the position.
Viver working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Marshall.
Viver will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Marshall works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Marshall wants to pass to mount but Viver is defending the position.
Viver avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Marshall.
Marshall is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Viver reverses the position - he's now on top in Marshall's guard.

Marshall is looking for a triangle but Viver pushes his legs off easily.
Marshall being controlled here, momentarily.
Viver passes Marshall's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Viver lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Marshall is staying active underneath Viver, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Marshall throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Viver is trying to control. Marshall wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Marshall wants to control but Viver is keeping busy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Marshall is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Viver has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Viver really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Viver goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Marshall rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Viver's guard! Nice work there by Marshall!
Marshall wants to control from the top but Viver keeps moving.
Viver controls Marshall momentarily but Marshall frees himself.
Viver tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sanius Viver will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Marshall doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Viver counters with a three punch combo that has Marshall backing up. Marshall nods at Viver to acknowledge the strikes.
A low kick from Marshall is predictable there
and Viver makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Marshall shoots and misses
and Viver counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Marshall takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Viver connects with a nice short shot to Marshall's temple.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Marshall tries to kick Viver off but Viver keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Still in half guard, Viver seems content to control.

Viver drops an elbow to the side of Marshall's head.

Viver is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Marshall doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Viver.
Marshall has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Viver is working away from the top position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Viver counters by moving into the clinch.
Sanius Viver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Marshall.

Viver jumps into guard, dragging Marshall to the mat.

Viver has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Marshall can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Marshallis looking to pass into half guard but Viver pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Viver is in guard.

Marshall trying to keep a closed guard but Viver is proving a slippery customer.

Marshall has his foot on Viver's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Viver works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Viver is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Viver postures up in Marshall's guard and throws a big left but Marshall blocks it.

Marshall is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Viver defends well.
Marshall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Viver is stalling in the full guard.

Marshall kicks Viver off and gets to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sanius Viver dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Marshall gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

and Viver counters with a nice kick to the body.
Marshall shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

Sanius Viver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Marshall.
Marshall has momentary wrist control but Viver slips an elbow through the middle.

You can see the frustration on Marshall's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Viver uses his free foot to push down on Marshall's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Marshall.

Viver prevents Marshall from getting the reversal.
Viver postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Marshall looks a forlorn figure.
Marshall is wriggling around trying to escape.
Viver wants to control the pace but Marshall is squirming around nicely.
Viver has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Marshall wants to hold on but Viver pushes him away.
Marshall is squirming around, avoiding Viver's attempts to control the action.

Viver has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Marshall's face.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Viver lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Well Viver has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
