PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Knock out (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ace Bremer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Knock out!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ace Bremer!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
out showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bremer.
Bremer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bremer tries to clinch but out is having none of it.

out is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bremer's half guard.
out tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bremer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
out throwing shots but Bremer is blocking nicely.
Bremer is not content to let out control the position.

No joy there for Bremer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

out shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than out was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

out can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bremer is looking to escape.

out throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee warns Bremer that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
out throwing strikes here but Bremer is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Bremer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bremer fakes a jab and throws a low kick but out checks it well.

and out counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bremer is looking to stand up but out isn't so interested in that idea.
out looking to sit in guard and control but Bremer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Bremer wants to stand and escape but instead out has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

out slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
out scoring with punches to the head and body.
out looking to sit in guard and control but Bremer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Bremer wants to get up but he can't break out's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

out on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if out tries to get out of the position.
out throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

out had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bremer defends it easily.

Bremer got a little sloppy there for a moment and out has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bremer has managed to get both his arms back between out's legs - danger averted.
out bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bremer's guard.

out trying to control but Bremer is working from the bottom.
out loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
out throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bremer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
out throws a big right hand that misses.
out with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bremer keeping moving, preventing out from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

A frustrated look appears on Bremer's face as he tries to break the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Knock out. That's going to take a lot out of him.

out is looking to stand up but Bremer won't let him.

Bremer wriggles free and stands up.
Bremer throws a solid leg kick but out takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bremer.
Bremer slaps away a takedown attempt from out, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bremer misses with a wild combination.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bremer throws a right hand that out ducks under and follows up with a left that out also avoids with ease.

out is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bremer wants to stand up but out is controlling him.
out preventing the sweep.

out wants to control from the top but Bremer keeps moving.
out is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bremer is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Bremer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Knock out is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
out closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bremer circles away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Knock out showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for out, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
