The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kuhr is bucking up trying to escape but Pillunaama cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kuhr, as that shot connected.

and Pillunaama counters with a takedown into side control.
Kuhr takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Pillunaama cracks Kuhr with a big elbow.
Pillunaama stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Kuhr gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kuhr throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pillunaama's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's time! Pillunaama's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Kuhr clinches but Pillunaama breaks the clinch
and Pillunaama counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pillunaama.

Kuhr has momentary wrist control but Pillunaama slips an elbow through the middle.
Pillunaama might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kuhr can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pillunaama controls the pace.
Pillunaama is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Kuhr fails with the takedown
so Pillunaama counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kuhr wants to stand up but Pillunaama is controlling him.
Pillunaama controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kuhr wants to control but Pillunaama passes easily into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Pillunaama is working for a kimura but Kuhr is defending it quite comfortably.

Pillunaama stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Kuhr misses with a takedown
and Pillunaama moves into the clinch.
Kuhr tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pillunaama just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pate Pillunaama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sami Kuhr.
Pillunaama tries a knee to the head but Kuhr blocks it.
Kuhr is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pillunaama gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Pillunaama is trying to break the clinch but Kuhr has him pressed against the cage.
Kuhr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pillunaama misses with the combination.

Kuhr shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Kuhr is fighting to break Pillunaama's control of his arms but Pillunaama is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Kuhr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pillunaama stays in close to Kuhr's body and controls the position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pillunaama, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
