Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Gorgy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dou Bag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gorgy comes to the cage accompanied by Nostalgia. Maxim Gorgy has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Vladimir Khabensky and Valeri Chadov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bag throws a leg kick that misses.
Bag shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gorgy as he jumps to the side.
Bag changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gorgy tries to avoid it but Bag manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gorgy to the ground. Gorgy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gorgy rushes Bag and presses him up against the cage.

Maxim Gorgy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dou Bag.

Gorgy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bag throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gorgy's waist but Gorgy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bag off to one side.
Nice takedown defense from Gorgy. No joy for Bag on that attempt.

Gorgy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bag wants to get back to his feet.

Gorgy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bag defends it well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bag works his way to full guard. Good work.
Gorgy controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Gorgy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bag manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gorgy has Bag in his guard.

Bag stalling.
Gorgy has a hand on Bag's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Bag takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Bag is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gorgy has managed to escape the submission attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bag can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gorgy is looking to escape.

Bag is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gorgy can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bag tries for a takedown but Gorgy circles away easily
and Gorgy counters with a thumping low kick.

Gorgy throws a combination. Bag tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

and Gorgy counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bag thinking.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bag is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Bag wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gorgy keeps working.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bag is keen to just control but Gorgy is a slippery customer.

Gorgy flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Gorgy is looking for a sweep. Bag is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Bag lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Gorgy is trying to get back to full guard.
Gorgy is trying to maintain the position but Bag is very close to passing his half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gorgy is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Bag jumps into side control!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Bag tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Gorgy counters with a takedown into side control.
Bag gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Bag wants to control but Gorgy is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Gorgy leaves Bag with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gorgy feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Bag's calf.

The fight stays on the outside here - Gorgy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gorgy goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bag takes an elbow to the forehead.
Bag drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Gorgy drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bag pulls his leg out and moves away.

Gorgy shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bag napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Gorgy is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bag will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Gorgy throwing strikes but Bag manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

so Gorgy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Bag scrambles and gets back to his feet.

and Gorgy counters by moving into the clinch.

Gorgy blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Maxim Gorgy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Bag tries to pull guard but Gorgy won't allow it.
Dou Bag has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
