Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Robert Paulson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gold Member! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Member tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Paulson swats away the attempt to clinch by Member. Paulson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Paulson wants it to stay on the feet. Member has taken the fight to the clinch.
Paulson looking to stall.
Paulson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Members head. Member drops down looking for an ankle pick but Paulson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Member avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paulson tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Member counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paulson is refusing to be controlled, as Member sits in half guard. Member performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Paulson is trying to maintain the position but Member is very close to passing his half guard. Member wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Paulson is not content to let Member control the position. Paulson is trying to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Member avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Paulson wants to clinch. Paulson clinches but Member breaks the clinch and Member counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Member looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paulson works his way to full guard. Good work. Member looking to sit in guard and control but Paulson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Member can do anything to dispel that myth. Paulson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Member is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Member trying to keep a closed guard but Paulson is proving a slippery customer.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Paulson tries to stand but Member is controlling from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gold Member dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Member shoots in for a double leg but Paulson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Member shoots in for a takedown but Paulson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Member is looking to clinch but Paulson is avoiding it.
Member is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Paulson tries to clinch up. Paulson tries to clinch up and Member counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Member is breathing heavily. Paulson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Member is controlling him. Member postures up in Paulson's guard and throws a big left but Paulson blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Member looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Member preventing the sweep. Member trying to control but Paulson is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Paulson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Member, pushing him back against the cage. Member wants a takedown but no success here.
Robert Paulson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gold Member. A nice left hand lands by Paulson.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Paulson makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paulson lands on the inside with an uppercut. A short left from Paulson. Paulson taking a breather. The referee is keeping an eye on Paulson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Still in the clinch, Paulson scores with a nice short uppercut. Paulson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Paulson scores with a decent looking hook. Paulson drops Member with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Member looks back up at him and smiles so Paulson waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Member is rocked! Paulson tries to clinch up and Member counters with a single leg into guard. Paulson didn't expect that. Member is still in real trouble! Can Paulson finish him?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Member wants to control from the top but Paulson keeps moving. Member seems to have recovered his senses. Paulson wants to stand up but Member is controlling him. Paulson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Paulson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Paulson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Member takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Paulson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Paulson doesn't manage to clinch there - Member circles away.
Member tries for a takedown but Paulson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Robert Paulson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Paulson gets through Member's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Member takes a shot to the head. Paulson dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Paulson tries to break the clinch but Member is controlling the position. Paulson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Members head. A quick uppercut on the inside from Paulson. Paulson is trying to break the clinch but Member has him pressed against the cage. Paulson creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Member with a big uppercut! Member tries to clinch up but Paulson pushes him back against the cage and lands another moster strike that crumples Member to the mat! Member covers up and Paulson unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
