The bell rings for round one and we are underway! rain misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Davis tries to clinch but rain moves out of range. rain feints and as Davis raises his hands in defense, rain changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Davis keeping full guard, as rain tries to pass. Davis is working an open guard so rain takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. rain swats away the attempt to clinch by Davis. Davis stuffs the takedown. rain fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

rain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Davis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. rain sprawls well initially but Davis persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Davis is looking to clinch but rain is avoiding it.
Davis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. rain is looking to escape. rain is refusing to be controlled, as Davis sits in half guard. rain looking for submissions off his back. rain makes his way to full guard. A much better position for rain. rain is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. rain keeping full guard, as Davis tries to pass. rain working for a triangle but Davis defends it easily.
Davis slips nicely into half guard. rain is looking for a sweep. Davis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Davis is working for a kimura but rain is defending it quite comfortably.
Davis is keen to just control but rain is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. rain looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Davis is trying a forearm choke
I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Davis is looking for a kimura but rain is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Davis to get the leverage. Davis takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Davis is nestled in close to rain, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Davis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. rain gets full guard. rain working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but rain is tightening it up a little... Davis has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Davis reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Davis taps out! nice BJJ there by rain!
