Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Soto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Justin Pain ! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soto fails to land the takedown. Pain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Soto moves into range and clinches up with Pain . Soto escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pain buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Soto shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pain manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Pain wants to stand and escape but Soto is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pain not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Soto stands up from Pain 's guard - Soto perhaps looking for a knockout. Soto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pain pinned against the cage. Pain gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soto slips a jab and a cross from Pain .
Pain should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Pain smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Pain stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pain wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Soto. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pain gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Soto to score an easy takedown into full guard. Soto will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Pain can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Soto controls the pace. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Pain has eaten all the pies! Soto is breathing heavily. Pain doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pain wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Soto manages to pass to side control. Pain wants to improve his position but Soto is controlling well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pain tries to roll over but Soto keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soto escapes and gets back to his feet. Pain tries to clinch but Soto moves out of range. Soto catches Pain with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Pain shoots and misses and Soto moves into the clinch. Soto breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Soto closes the distance and clinches up with Pain , looking for a takedown. Soto pushes Pain against the cage but Pain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Pain will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Soto fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pain avoids it really well and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Soto moves in looking to clinch but Pain pushes him off. Soto closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pain did well to prevent Soto getting side control. Pain blocking the ground and pound attempt from Soto. Soto not doing much here.
Soto not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Soto dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Pain leaves Soto with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Soto drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pain prevents Soto from moving into mount. Soto is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Pain will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Pain is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Soto's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Soto works his way into full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Pain gets back to half guard. Pain looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Soto works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Soto working the ground and pound effectively.
Soto postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pain looks a forlorn figure.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Soto trying to control but he's not successful this time. Soto working Pain over with strikes here. Pain tries to hold on but Soto postures up. Pain is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Soto controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Soto avoids the attempt from Pain to control. Soto in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Soto controlling the pace for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Soto is landing with some decent strikes but Pain is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Soto dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

No luck with that takedown attempt from Soto. Soto has his takedown stuffed and Pain counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Pain . That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Soto. That's going to take a lot out of him. Soto lands a hook to the side of the head. Pain prevents the takedown attempt.
Pain tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Soto smiles and moves away.
Pain keeps the fight on the outside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Soto blocks a head kick by Pain .
Pain shoots and misses and Soto counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Soto is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soto not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Still in half guard, Soto seems content to control. John Soto overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pain is trying to get back to full guard.

Soto is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pain defends it well. Pain is looking to control Soto's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pain avoid being mounted? Soto gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Soto dives in and grabs Pain 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pain pushes down on Soto's head and hops out. Pain closes the distance looking to clinch and Soto counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pain ! Pain tries to hold on but Soto pushes him away. Soto working away from the top, dropping strikes. Pain squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Soto is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pain is surviving well by controlling Soto's body position as best he can. Soto tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Pain really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Justin Pain has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! John Soto is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Soto controlling his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! John Soto showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Soto, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
