Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between CHUCK LIDDELL (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mamed Khalidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mamed Khalidov has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with CHUCK LIDDELL's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

LIDDELL closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Khalidov did well to prevent LIDDELL getting side control.
Khalidov is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of LIDDELL's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take LIDDELL's back!
LIDDELL trying to control the action but Khalidov just sinks the hooks in.
Khalidov misses with an elbow to the head.

Khalidov patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

LIDDELL wriggles onto his back under a barage of strikes.
LIDDELL is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Khalidov content just to control the position here.
LIDDELL tries to lock up and control but Khalidov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

LIDDELL is trying to escape the mount.

LIDDELL defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Khalidov.

Khalidov is working for a guillotine from mount but LIDDELL frees his head quite easily.

LIDDELL is trying to escape the mount.
LIDDELL slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Khalidov is looking to take a break and control but LIDDELL is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Khalidov thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Khalidov tries to stand but can't do so whilst LIDDELL controls his leg.
LIDDELL tries to get to full guard but Khalidov has control of the leg.

LIDDELL is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
LIDDELL is trying to maintain the position but Khalidov is very close to passing his half guard.
LIDDELL tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Khalidov prevents LIDDELL from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
LIDDELL is breathing heavily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and LIDDELL counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Khalidov!
Khalidov is looking to improve his position but LIDDELL isn't that keen on the idea.

Khalidov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control LIDDELL kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

LIDDELL is squirming around, avoiding Khalidov's attempts to control the action.
LIDDELL is trying to reverse the position but instead Khalidov has taken his back - oops!
Khalidov wants to control but LIDDELL manages to buck him off and is now in Khalidov's guard! Nice work there by LIDDELL!
LIDDELL is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
LIDDELL thows a big elbow that misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Khalidov is on top in guard.

Khalidov got a little sloppy there for a moment and LIDDELL has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Khalidov has managed to get both his arms back between LIDDELL's legs - danger averted.
Khalidov wants to control from the top but LIDDELL keeps moving.
Khalidov distracts LIDDELL with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

and LIDDELL decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Khalidov's guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Khalidov doesn't succeed with the takedown

and LIDDELL counters with a single leg into guard. Khalidov didn't expect that.
CHUCK LIDDELL has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mamed Khalidov.
LIDDELL with a flurry of punches that miss.
Khalidov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

LIDDELL drops back looking for a leg! Khalidov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Khalidov manages to kick LIDDELL off! LIDDELL jumps back into Khalidov's guard.
CHUCK LIDDELL overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Khalidov wants to get back to his feet but LIDDELL is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

CHUCK LIDDELL dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



The fight moves into the clinch position.

LIDDELL jumps guard.
LIDDELL thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Khalidov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! LIDDELL is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Khalidov, into his guard.

LIDDELL gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Khalidov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Khalidov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and LIDDELL counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Khalidov's guard now.

LIDDELL stands up and waves to Khalidov to follow him.
LIDDELL wants to clinch up but Khalidov keeps it at a distance.
Khalidov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and LIDDELL counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

LIDDELL breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Khalidov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
LIDDELL tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Khalidov paws at him with a jab and circles away.

LIDDELL keeping moving, preventing Khalidov from controlling successfully.

LIDDELL scrambles and gets back to his feet.
LIDDELL fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Khalidov shoots in for a double leg but LIDDELL sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
CHUCK LIDDELL has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mamed Khalidov.

LIDDELL gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Khalidov can't break the clinch.
Khalidov is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
LIDDELL just leaning against Khalidov, taking a breather.
LIDDELL is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Khalidov tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. LIDDELL smiles and moves away.

Khalidov darts in and clinches LIDDELL up against the cage.

LIDDELL has Khalidov pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Khalidov manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Khalidov lands a left hand that snaps the head of LIDDELL backwards.

Khalidov swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by LIDDELL.
LIDDELL pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

LIDDELL moves into the clinch successfully.

LIDDELL jumps into guard, dragging Khalidov to the mat.
LIDDELL controls Khalidov momentarily but Khalidov frees himself.
Khalidov wants to pass the guard but LIDDELL is keeping the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
CHUCK LIDDELL showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for LIDDELL, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
