And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Carlos Braga!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alstair closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Alstair slaps away a takedown attempt from Braga, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Nice straight punches there by Alstair. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Alstair.
Dirk Alstair seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Braga moves out of range as Alstair throws a body kick.
Braga dodges the punch combination from Alstair.
Braga takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Alstair moves in looking to clinch but Braga pushes him off.
Braga slips a jab and a cross from Alstair.
Alstair looks to land a body kick but Braga moved away.
Alstair throws a series of punches but Braga avoids them all with ease.
Braga wants to clinch up but Alstair keeps it at a distance.
Alstair tries a head kick but it misses.
Alstair throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Braga moves forwards but Alstair connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Braga decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Alstair kicks off Braga and gets to his feet.
Alstair shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Braga counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Alstair's guard now.
Alstair is looking to stand up but Braga isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alstair is breathing heavily.
Braga controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Alstair wants to stand up but Braga is controlling him.
Braga controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Alstair is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Braga dives into side control.

Braga is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alstair is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Alstair wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Braga working for a choke but Alstair is defending well.
Alstair is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Braga.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Despite being in the dominant position, Carlos Braga just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Braga scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Braga remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dirk Alstair will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Braga is trying hard to land a takedown here. Alstair sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Braga is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Alstair is surviving well by controlling Braga's body position as best he can.

Braga avoids the attempt from Alstair to control.

You get the feeling that Alstair really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Braga is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Braga!
