Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Salva Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cruz kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Kreator - Phobia. Jackson has chosen Tupac -Ambitionz Az A Ridah as his entrance music. Salva Cruz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Salva Cruz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gary Jackson! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz clinches with his opponent.
Jackson tries to break the clinch but Cruz is controlling the position. Cruz is trying to trip Jackson. He has hold of a leg but Jackson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cruz persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Cruz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cruz postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Cruz throwing strikes from guard but Jackson blocks nicely. Cruz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cruz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jackson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Cruz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Jackson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Cruz is looking to work some ground and pound but Jackson has wrist control. Cruz with a flurry of punches that miss.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Cruz pushes him off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cruz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but Cruz persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Cruz working the head and body with strikes. Cruz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jackson is just riding it out for now. Cruz eventually gives up the hold. Jackson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cruz. Jackson is trying to stand up here but Cruz is controlling him well. Cruz throwing shots but Jackson is blocking nicely. Jackson wants to get back to his feet.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cruz connects with a nice short shot to Jackson's temple.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cruz works his way into side control. Jackson looks gassed! Cruz cracks Jackson with an elbow. That is naaassty. Cruz works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Jackson is rocked! Cruz working the body and head with strikes. Jackson is still in real trouble! Can Cruz finish him? Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cruz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Cruz lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Cruz is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cruz lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson is not content to let Cruz control the position. Cruz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jackson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Jackson is trying to improve his position. Cruz is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jackson pushes Cruz away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cruz gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cruz fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Cruz throws an elbow but Jackson slips to the side and avoids it well.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cruz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jackson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Cruz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to avoid it but Cruz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jackson to the ground. Jackson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jackson with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Jackson lands with a hook. Cruz tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cruz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Cruz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cruz throws a big right hand that misses. Cruz pushing down on Jackson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Salva Cruz dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Cruz closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Cruz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Jackson is pushing Cruz's head away, looking to escape. Cruz manages to hold on to the position though. Cruz is putting a hurting on Jackson here, landing some big shots from side control. Jackson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Cruz is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jackson is breathing heavily. Cruz working the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth. Jackson taking punishment in the form of punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cruz tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Jackson presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Cruz is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Jackson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cruz is looking to escape. Cruz manages to regain half guard. Good work. Cruz is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Jackson jumps into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz is looking for a sweep. Jackson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Jackson's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Jackson duly obliges. Cruz fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jackson jabs Cruz right on the nose. Cruz blinks but takes it well. Cruz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cruz lands in his opponent's guard. Cruz stands and throws Jackson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Cruz working the strikes but Jackson uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Cruz thows a huge punch but Jackson dodges it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cruz wants to pass the guard but Jackson is defending well. Cruz working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Cruz drops an elbow to the side of Jackson's head. Cruz throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Jackson is trying to stand.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cruz is nestled in close to Jackson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jackson has hold of Cruz's hands but Cruz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Cruz is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Salva Cruz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cruz stands and throws Jackson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Jackson is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Cruz scoring with punches and elbows. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jackson has control of an arm but Cruz manages to advance to Cruz's back! Cruz is throwing shots to the body but Jackson manages to wriggle free. Cruz pounces on him again and ends up in Jackson's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cruz is one step ahead there. Cruz wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving. Cruz trying to move into half guard but instead Jackson has managed to sweep! Cruz doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Cruz had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jackson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cruz Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jackson's back instead. Jackson manages to stand up with Cruz still on his back. Eventually Cruz drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Cruz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Cruz avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cruz scores a takedown into full mount! Cruz lands a big shot there that rocks Jackson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Cruz looking to finish Jackson with some ground and pound. This is bad for Jackson! Cruz with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Gary Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cruz fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jackson swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Cruz pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Salva Cruz showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cruz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
